So sick of these people, they should learn by now that they are NOT going to get a dime of my money!!!  They are criminals and I wish they could be stopped!!  I have been getting these phone calls for 3 years now, saying I defaulted on a pay day loan and that I was going to be served with papers or thrown in jail...I WISH THEY WOULD DO IT ALREADY!!! Stop threatening me and just DO IT!!!  but....that will never happen because they are criminals trying to wear me down until I give up and give them money for something I do NOT owe!!!  They have resulted to calling my family members now and threatening them to pay or they will put me in jail..what a joke.  I have reported them so many times to local police, attorney general, FTC, FBI and they can't catch them.  They use disposable phones, they are hard to trace.  I have credit protection and life lock on my SS #, I guess that's all I can do.  My family members all know not to answer and not to give any of these idiots the time of day

Got a call stating to call the number.  It was an automated call stating that my mail was returned and they were unable to deliver or obtain a signature. They're trying to make it sound like a legal action is going to be taken against you.  The name stated was Colin Storm with ERG or they would be forced to make a decision without me or some crap.  I don't know.  I don't care.  They are most likely affiliated with a payday/cash advance type place and that's why they have your social security number and other sensitive information. It's been sold to them by the payday loan people for pennies on the dollar for more than likely an unpaid debt.  Someone may have used your information (if you didn't do this) for you to cosign on a loan.  If they're asking for someone else (that you know) and providing your social then look at that person if you didn't approve them taking a loan under your social.  I would think someone could sue the payday places for providing such sensitive information to these crooks and not doing due diligence in ensuring that debt collection practices would be according to law.  I have never taken a loan out for this type of thing but I know this because of the way I was affiliated with these payday places and they were only able to provide the small bit of information that they could use as "ammunition" against me.  It was not a lot and there are no consequences for me.  They just want to scare me to think there was....Which unfortunately, I am pretty well versed about this sort of thing and know what the laws are.    The debt they claim you owe them is not valid or legal.

They report that St. Armands is involved in unlicensed online payday loans and uses harassing debt collection practices.

Several consumers alleged that, without permission, St. Armands electronically deposited funds into their accounts and later withdrew funds.

One consumer also reported harassing collection practices. The consumer reported that an individual claiming to be Daniel Baker of Baker Investigations left messages with the consumer’s family members threatening legal action. The consumer also reported than another individual, who claimed to represent Goldstein and Associates, demanded the consumer’s credit card number and refused to provide a mailing address.

The website associated with St. Armands is www.starmandsgrouppaydayloan.com. DFI has no other contact information.

St. Armands is not licensed by the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI). It is not registered to do business in Washington by either the Department of Revenue or the Secretary of State.

Washington state residents are advised that state law provides in RCW 31.45.105(1)(d) and (3) that a payday loan made by an unlicensed lender to a person physically located in Washington is uncollectible and unenforceable in Washington.
    Verify Licenses

DFI strongly recommends that residents verify the license of any lender with which they consider doing business with. Consumers are urged to verify licensing status prior to giving the lender nonpublic personal information, such as social security number and checking account access. You can verify a license with DFI at www.dfi.wa.gov or by calling 1.877.RING DFI (746-4334).
    Report Fraud

Washington State residents, if you are suspicious of unlicensed activity by a payday lender please contact the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions at 1-877-RING-DFI (746-4334), or online at www.dfi.wa.gov.

If you live in another state, find your state regulator.

If you feel you have been the victim of a loan scam please contact the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-FTC-HELP (382-4357) or online at www.ftc.gov; or contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (855) 411-CFPB or online at www.consumerfinance.gov. Because the scammers have access to bank account information and social security numbers, victims should consider themselves victims of identity theft and take appropriate precautions. The Federal Trade Commission has information for victims of identity theft available online at www.ftc.gov.

If you feel you have been the victim of a loan scam involving the Internet please contact the Internet Crime Complaint Center online at www.ic3.gov.

If you feel you have been the victim of a loan scam and are concerned about your personal financial information, contact your banking institution, and the three major credit bureaus.

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

    Some Tips:
    *Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time, date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.
