They are scammers

I have this phone # as Ooma customer service & I have called in the past since I am an Ooma customer. I called today & an automatic answer played before someone answered. The played answering said they were giving a gift card to some of their customers because the system was slow. Then the person who answered said he needed the credit card to charge $1.95 to send the gift card & would give me a confirmation #.
To make story short, they hang up never sending me to customer service & now I get disconnected if I call the number.
It bothers me that it was a safe # in the past, with people with foreign accent, so I was not concerned about giving the info since I innitiated the call.
I gave them my first name I have with Ooma but it's different from my credit card. I call the credit card to let them know & I will monitor my credit card charges just in case...

Anyway, be aware of this number & others who offer something & want payment info from you before resolving your issue.
