I got call on my work phone and very rude and couldn't understand them and then asked for name and address of company I called they hung up. Its all a scam

Got a voicemail from a gentleman saying I was going to be served on April 8th 2016 at my residence.  I have 2 complaints against me and if I don't sign the crtified letters legal actions will be taken without my knowledge.  Says he is with BSC?  Thinking this is a scam.  I having nothing outstanding.  let alone 2 complaints?  Why would they tell me when I am being served?

What company name did they give you?

I received a call from this number today and when returned the call the guy was from American credit financial. He had a lot of info but I informed him I have no job. When I called the original debtor they said the account was sent to another agency not this one. What a scam.

Was the persons name Dwayne?  I got told to call that same number and when they awnser I'm told they are American credit financial.

Total scam.  No legitimate process server calls you up in advance and tells you you are going to be served.  No legal actions can be taken against you without your knowledge.

If you were the subject of a pending civil lawsuit, you'd have received a letter from the attorney for the other party.  You'd have a paper trail.

Then, if a case was filed, you'd have received a summons delivered to you by someone licensed to serve process in your locality.  You would NOT have first heard about any civil law case from some scammery-scummery debt collector who cold calls you and starts demanding money.

You can check this out yourself by simply going down to the local main civil court and checking the defendants civil list.  The court clerks are usually glad to help and are familiar with these kinds of scams.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

Just called me again saying that my case as been forwarded to ATL attempt to Locate and if I clear up now before the manager signs off I wave my rights and will have to appear in court.

In the debt collection world, people always call the collector who call to make the repayment arrangement to repay a debt, a scam. Under the FDCPA rules, most individuals who are assigned to collect bad debt, operate within federal guidelines. You do have individuals who are not in compliance. I find it funny that many people who make these claims on these sights, are actually the debtors who are not fulfilling their agreed obligations. Just pay your debts and stop running and making excuses to not pay.

They called me 5/9 & 5/10 as well. Told me they're American Credit Financial and how they're two fraud claims on a payday loan I took out 5+ years ago. I knew it was a scam cause I knew I didn't take out any loans. Then I hit her with the remix by asking her questions she couldn't answer so I pretty much cussed her out, told her to serve me my papers and hung up!

If the caller is legitimate, they will follow the law by MAILING proof of the debt within 5 days of contact. The callers listed on this site (NOT sight) refuse to do so. Thus the claims of scam.

This is a total scam. I found out they are scamming people in an office off jimmy carter blvd in norcross georgia. Now, i know a quite of few top heads in this county and its going to be hell to pay if they find out how American Credit Financial extorts people and its employees. They called me last week saying I had 2 pending fraud claims in the state of Georgia. The lady was talking so fast i got frustrated and hung. Well, the phone never actually hung up. I heard 2 ladies arguing back and forth something sbout a deal being dropped. The last thing I heard is if Dana is going to be mad then let her and something about being sent home. I guess Dana is the manager I dont know. Just sounded like a basemment scam to me, but atleast the Georgia atty gen. Sam Olens office knows about this ,and I hope no one else becomes a victim of phoney collection practices which is illegal in the state of Georgia.
