Would like to verify activity on my account.  Quoted 4 digits.  Called back they need to verify zip code.
Citibank has a specific sound when the call connects..this did not.  The hold has music..Citi does not play music.  The robot woman is not the same as  Citi

I had the call also. But I did 3 answers by push number buttons: English, NO the account, No the person. Is there any trouble ?

got call on both cell and landline with correct last 4 digits of checking account saying possible fraud, call back. recording was perfectly done to sound like citibank fraud. luckily there was a tiny glitch in their knowledge that got my antenna up so I checked out the number and got this site

Confirming this is a valid Citibank number is useless because scammers spoof valid phone numbers all the time.

Not a scam - I did not pick up this call but they left voicemail - it was a recording from the Fraud department for Citibank asking for verification on a check that I wrote.  They stated my name and the last 4 digits of my checking account.  I then check my email and saw the same request for verification along with thecorrect check number and amount in question.  It was correct for them to contact me since the check was unusually large thanks to the tax man.
