Called today, Who are they?

Found message on answering machine to call this  number back. In the message they leave on your answering machine they are trying their utmost best to make you feel it's very important, they even give you time to go to another room to continue listening to them in private. Very weird.  It's a female voice with a very strong Australian accent. It's just marketing of course.

Received message on aswering machine today re: my "sibling" (mispronounced my last name too!) and repeated that it was "URGENT" to call back, with extension # (7809) and all. I should also add that my home # is on a "Do Not Call" list ...not that it works, I seem to be getting even MORE crappy phone solicitations than before :(

they call here and keep asking for my step daughter who has never lived with me and they tell me if im not her to hang up, i am on the do not call list and am getting tired of it but dont know how to stop it

Wanted to talk to a certain person who did not know who this was. Said it was urgent she talk to him. She said she was from Allied International. Call this number and ask for ex.7809. This is the second time she called in 2 weeks. I'm sure this is a scam...how do you stop it???

They call cell phones too now.
If I don't know the number, I don't answer it.

Just called. Computer voice, "Please wait for an urgent message" Repeated twice. I hung up.

i got a call from 18662124250 i just was wonder if any one knw the number to contact them so i can yell at them some more and tell themto send me abill in the mail which they wont do they always say they have to fax to my bank and i tell them the same thing if u fax it to the bank im not payin until i get a bill from them so if any one knows a contact number for them would be great

Yeah this is a caller that sounded the same to me... She said that she had a package that would be delivered to my house, and wanted to make sure id be home within the hour... I knew who she was and sent her on a wild run for her money! lmao

Well you're all getting off easy...they call us EVERY DAY sometimes more than once.

We called our phone provider and they can't do anything, but they said if you're on the DO NOT CALL list, then this is illegal (only charities and newspapers still can call).

Ours changes the name they're looking for each week.

Called at about 5:00 pm est on Sept 17/2009. Answered the call and person at the other end said " Watch your back, You are next" then they hung up. Sounds like they are leaving death threats.

This number keeps calling for (today at just after 8:00 on Saturday morning!) and says to hang up if I am not... I did and they keep calling  

I obviously made the mistake of picking up a couple of times and trying to talk to them (once dead air and once no person there just a machine), after which the calls increased now to 4 or 5 times or more a week.

This appears to be either a scam (as we are not the person they are calling for or criminal harassment (see  www.crcvc.ca/docs/crimharass.pdf) by a collection company called Allied International Credit www.aiccorp.com

The above document suggests the time of calls and reporting it to the police to stop. Also to get on the Canada do not call list,

The CRTC rules for automated dialing http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/trules-reglest.htm suggests in Part IV: Dialing Announcing Device (ADAD) Rules someone must be there within 2 seconds of pickup of the call

and A person using an ADAD to make unsolicited telecommunications where there is no attempt to solicit, shall comply with the following conditions:

The CRTC has a procedure for complaints but apparently relies on the do-not-call list

Has anyone tried one of these options to stop these calls with positive results?

I found info that a Collection agency are not a telemarketer therefore do not have to comply with the rules of the Do not Call list.  Should call your departement agency of your province

Allied International Credit is who this # belongs to apparently. http://www.aiccorp.com/default.htm they handle all kinds of 3rd party collections.

I am on the "Do not call" list but this number keeps calling me. For the longest time on a regular basis the mess. was "This is a mess. for Leslie Sumanson(sounds like that). If you are not Leaslie Sumanson please hang up, which I do.
Dec 17, I got a call from this number with a voice mess. that said please call 1-866-212-4250 and refer to Ref.# 7101609....I just hung up. Weird...who are these people...how can they be stopped?
