Left on voicemail to call this number if "you would like to be added to our do not call list". Sounded odd. Did not call

Caller ID showed Century Link 800-244-1111 (was not there to answer call), listened to message indicting to call 866-212-8499...I ALWAYS resist these calls, but since Century Link was in caller ID and I had just changed my phone plan, I thought this was a follow-up of some sort.  The message wanted to add my number to "Century Link" do not call list!!!  Silly me, even tho I was on the national do not call list and have an unlisted number, I fell for it.  I immediately called Century Link--they had already received questioning calls...folks this is a big scam!!!  After an hour on the phone with Century, I put a freeze and password on my phone account since anyone can call and have your local and long distance number transferred to another carrier.  I can not believe, nor can I get my head inside, these evil people...I was told anyone can put an app on their cell phone and use any selected number they choose!

IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE IN PHONE SCAMS--BIG BUSINESS GET INVOLVED AND PROTCT YOUR CUSTOMERS,DO NOT TELL THEM THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO.......I'M NOT AN IRRITANT TO YOU,  AS I PAY (INDIRECTLY) FOR YOUR SALARY!
