Who do we report this to? Do not pay this lady! It's a scam! I talked to her and she's telling I owe a loan company $814 and I've never opened an account with that company. They are trying to take people's hard earned money and she must be stopped!!!

An actual Process Server is not going to have any conversation with you about any debt you owe, nor will they demand payment from you. If something like this happens, immediately call local law enforcement and make a full report including as much descriptive information as you can give them of the person impersonating a court officer.

Repeated calls from a Rachel martinez who says she is a personal locater in Florida, and that I have a complaint against me and will be served papers to go to court on Monday.. Says to call and speak with Anita fox and gave file #.   Tried to call and had to leave message.   I'm not calling back, I feel if they were serving me papers they wouldn't call and warn me.   I haven't lived in Florida for 4years.

Received a call from Rachel Lewis a personal locator for the State looking for my husband.  She said a complaint has been filed with the State on his name and social.  She said if he doesn't call Anita Fox back at this number (866) 213-8233 within 24 hours a process server will be dispatched to him home or work place to serve papers on him and Case will be filed with the Courts.  If he calls he is to refer to Case # R_____.  Sounds to me like a threatening bill collector using scare tactics.  I am glad we are not the only one receiving this weird call with a little variation in the story and peoples names.

Stephen, if you take another call from "Anita" tell her that you've visited this site. Tell her that Gunnar has said that in his opinion she's nothing but a smoke-blowing fraud. Invite her to come here & debate the issue with me. There are many regulars here that would welcome a discussion with her. We like to engage in discussions about the lawful collection of valid debt. I SERIOUSLY doubt that "Anita" will want to have anything to do with a discussion with any of us.
"Anita" & her cohorts are fraudulent debt scammers. Nothing but bottom-feeding, criminal low-lives.
    Be Safe. Be Aware.

This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.  Now why would a “process server” want to do you, a stranger, a favor, and at the same time not get paid to deliver the papers?

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
