- redReceived call today....no message left.
- Karen CThey called me a few days ago and did not leave a message.
They called me today and reached me, offering some type of "coverage" This said "coverage" was $12.48 a month. She said that if I ever needed to be towed or needed up to two new tires that it would be taken care of under this new "policy addition." She said that I could have a free trial, but I would still have to give her my credit card number. When I asked her for literature, she said that if I signed up for the free trial, she would send it to me, after giving her my card number of course.
I told her that I did not have a credit card, and then she asked if I could you use someone else's! What the heck! I told her no thank you, and no more than an hour later, she called AGAIN!!!- Caller: They said it was Allstate.
- Bevans replies to Karen in Pgh, PA| 3 repliesI just got this call too. The deal sounds too good to be true, which usually means that it is.
I told them I would do it, but then they asked for my credit card info, which is weird, because if it's really Allstate, wouldn't they be able to just tack it on my current bill? (I already have Allsate car insurance.)
Naturally, I didn't want to give my card number, so I asked if they could send me a bill (for $1...ha ha). The caller wouldn't do that, but gave me a phone number to call for a "confirmation" number, which could be anybody really. She said she'd call back after a few minutes after I had "confirmed" it.
So, a few minutes later, sure enough, she called back. Which has never happened in my dealings with legitimate companies. I didn't answer because I wanted more time to research this deal, and talk to my Allstate rep.
A few minutes later, she called back again. I'm thinking, they must really want my money if they're calling back twice.
So...I'm still going to talk to my Allstate rep. But I'm pretty sure that it's a scam. - willA woman who identified herself as Christie with Allstate called at 0809 this morning and went through long spiel about the auto club (roadside service, etc.). I became suspicious when asked for a credit or debit card to secure the trial period (with option to cancel)of thirty days. My suspicion grew more when I requested a number to call back with my decision and was not given a number but asked when she could call me back.
I have a policy (to help avoid ID theft and card fraud) to not give out financial or personal information over the phone especially when I am the recipient of the call and not the originator. There are several options for paying bills, including insurance bills, which could have been activated in this case, however I chose none of the above since the only option offered was the use of a card.- Caller: Claimed to be Allstate
- SashaI got a phone call from this number with no message left also. The call came in at 10:12am to my home phone, It was on Tuesday August 27.
- Caller: Toll Free Call
- Crystal replies to Bevans| 1 replyThis is not a scam. I am an Allstate Agent in NC and Allstate is making calls for their Roadside Advantage Plan. It is called Allstate Motor Club and the deal is exactly what they say it is. They offer 4 different plans at 4 different costs, of course but they all are legitimate. tThe cheapest plan is Roadside Advantage, then Deluxe, Premium and then Premium Plus Plan.
They are cpmparable to AAA's plan. I 'm not trying to sell anyone, I'm just letting Allstate customer's know that it is legit! - whatsThe Point?OK...so what IS the point of all this......does anyone have advice on how to STOP these calls? or are we all going to keep posting these mindless "GOT THE CALL AGAIN" messages.....it's not helping anyone, legit or not!

- Jo replies to CrystalWell guess what Allstate Agent? We are not Allstate customers and we are receiving the calls. We are reporting this to the National and Pennsylvania Do Not Call List since we are on that and your company is solicitating service. This is aweful!!!!!!
- GGlad I quickly googled the number when the call-id showed this number.
I have AllState but am perfectly happy with what I have, and don't want to listen to a telemarketer scam.
Comon people: 9:40am? I'm at work! - knowsallaboutTHIS replies to BevansYou are an idiot, the allstate motor club is a different
company than allstate insurance and they do have a $1.00
plan for the first 2-3 months and you just do not know good
