These people called myself, my fiance and my mother's ex boyfriend saying there are allegations against me for check fraud.  The guy who left a message for me was John stone and my mother called and got a Karen Atwater.  Hmm funny thing I've never written a check in my life.  More searching turns up nothing on this number that they said to call or the local number they actually called on.

This thread is fairly new, a barometer for its use by the unknown thug collectors. The names and phone numbers get changed like underwear. The laws to protect you remain fairly static. Make them your friends.

"Preston Wells" called my number and said something about a 10 day notice and he was concerned, to call this number 8662325063 immediately. He also called my spouse and said it regarded a relative he named. The number he called from was 314328-4766. This week s obviously a scam

My Aunt got a call from a "Doug Flynn"  He in so many words threatened my family...not too mention when I called the number it went to a general voicemail to which I left a voicemail and then I called the Law firm we are working with to start cease and desist actions.

Why would you pay an attorney hundreds of dollars to send out a simple letter that you could have typed up yourself and mailed certified for less than 7 dollars?

I received a voicemail from a Chelsea Gates, saying that she was looking for my fiance. She said I was listed as his emergency contact through the state of Ohio. That he had 2 obligations against him. She called from a 614-398-2975 number but, left 866-232-5063 as the call back number to contact her. I googled it,which brought me to here. She claimed he didn't respond to a notice he was sent and he never received one.

I just received a call from a number 469-607-3204 and it stated they got my information from the state of Texas. Myself or my attorney needed to contact them. They also called my mom and my brother. I have reported these numbers to the FTC, in which Homeland Security contacted me back. This is a huge deal these scammers calling trying to get your money! Not me not today!!! 866-232-5063 was the number left in the voicemail.

A guy named Preston Wells called & informed that there was a felony fraud case against me. Apparently, I got a payday loan in 2014 & didn't pay it back. Just send it to collections! I called them back & 1) why do they even have access to my info 2) now they want to come up with a "resolution" before files are charged. 3) he transfers me to a compliance officer that says it's not her job to recollect my memory but just to read charges. I'm like, but none of this is true! 4) I just hung up...

I received a call from Karen Atwater stating that I have a check fraud case against me with a payday loan. I was then transferred to,a Carrie Williams who was in charge of my file. She said that her office received a 10-day notice to file charges or I can be transferred to ZTN Collections to setup payment arrangements. They even sent me an email from Stone Bivens gmail account with nothing in the body, no signature, or disclaimer. Told me that I have until noon to pay. Which was in an hour and a half. The 12 o'clock hour approached,  they called me 5 times!!
