Can anyone tell me what is this number?  They call looking for someone else and say my name is used as a reference but they can tell me what it is about?

They buy old debts for pennies on the dollar owed.. Its usually payday loans. They are calling me too ( several times) I always get the usual promise that they are not going to call me again then a couple days / weeks later I'm having the same conversation with them again.

Did a little research based on the last number they called me from they are

The above address is correct. I sent a unknown debt letter to them and it was signed for on the 22nd and I received my green card back.

THAT'S A STANDARD LIE THEY USE.  they will claim someone used you as a reference - hoping that you will get pissed off at that person - that maybe a friend or relative and give them up.

DEBT COLLECTORS LIE - you absolutely CANNOT believe anything they tell you on the PHONE and in most cases cannot believe anything they put writing either

They called and left a message that they were calling in regards to a "case" in Hillsboro county and that she was named a "a person of interest."   He didn't leave his name just a case number and the above phone number.  He said  that would have to "make a decision without her input on it disposition", and tried to sound like a lawyer.   I was going to call him myself and tell him to come up here so I could kick his [***], but my wife didn't want me to.

I received a call as well.  I have several payday loans that are in collection so I figured that is what it is. I spoke to a manager at vrm group who helped me to resolve one of them, but the number I have for them is different.

Company called (VRM Group or BRM Group) for someone that is not me. I have told them MANY times that the person they are looking for no longer has this number and to stop calling me. They need to remove me from there system. The rep I just spoke to rudly told me that I wouldn't be bothered if I turned my cell phone off then hung up on me.

I'm in the same situation as you.  They've called my house about 5 times in a week asking for a David Smoot?.  A couple of them were recordings that said I would be arrested if I did not call them back LOL!  I keep telling them they have the wrong number and told them to stop calling, but the calls have kept coming.

yes as i resently stated they are scammers this will not be the only number they will be calling u from the otheres start with +0500243 & privet , 913 area code....report them to better bissnes berrow , fbi, contact ur SS# office "put a restriction on ur SS# so no one can use it...dont ever give info even if u have a paper infront of u.. remember check there web sites.. if its underconstruction, no address, no phone number..... sorry but thats a fake and these ppl are oput to get ur money its what they know best........

rcvd call from lucas cortez telling me they rcvd a complaint about me and i needed to call him back today at 866 239 9990.  I called and got vcml box stating BRM group.

File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission Here....Stop talking and start screwing these guys. Also a link to a recent bust of debt collectors in Buffalo area from buddhibbs.com

Also, not that it would matter with these guys, add all your phones to the Do Not Call List www.donotcall.gov

I have actually sent the vrm group my info and cash for a payday loan that was in collections. a guy by the name of  jeffrey mccall contacts me like every month demanding a payment or the payday loan people are going to take me to court. Someone please tell me how to go about  doing something about this.
