these guys call my company http://www.getlocalmaps.com all the time. they have a recorded response pretending to be google and wanting to speak with business owner. it's a scam and just ignore this call.

This information is from my local telephone company.  When you get a call such as this one, pick up the receiver and put it aside.  Do not speak.  Leave it off the hook for as long as you possibly can.  When you do this, their robocaller cannot dial any further numbers until you hang up your telephone receiver.  This means the people making these calls are sitting idle.  This hits the scammers in the pocketbook because they aren't dialing!

I have done this numerous times for several hours at a clip.  Once you hang up, the marketers will take note of the telephone number that hung them up for so long and remove your number from their list.

They call, get our answering machine, did not leave message and then hang up! We are on the DO NOT CALL list!

get likewise apps that will block them with message to get their acts together. there are apps that block all calls (they may call you once) which enables you to block them, and let them listen to a nice song as "you must have a code to place the call to me, otherwise do not call again" of a sort.

This number appears on many who calls me sites. The want you to leave your phone # and e-mail address promising to stop unwanted calls its a scam. They will then send you an e-mail with viruses attached or other Malware. DO NOT CALL!

You are correct - someone posted this number to call  tp stop spam - 866-246-7196.

I let my phone ring until they hang up, google the number, block the number and add them to my over 250 phone numbers for Rachel - at Card Services contact - put the ring on silent, the vibration on silent and I never hear from them again.  Stopping these people is impossible, and God Bless the people who fall for their crap.

yes, god does love stupid people, cause he makes so many of them. " i am on the do not call list ", do not post that, instead, call your congressman and complain to him, every time you get an unwanted call. the dnc is useless for getting rid of scammers. it is like a lock, only keeps an honest man honest.

I guess people are THAT simple that they thought/think that every single soliciting (and even deadbeat losers think that includes collection calls - Ugh! THAT was a PAIN dealing with those dumb-[***] losers when the DNC first came out! I was an Executive in Collections at that times largest Department Stores in the US.) call is covered! It's NOT, plus - you must call & re register the phone lines you want covered yearly.
Look up what the exceptions are - you'll be amazed! OH! This isn't a message board for the Attorney General! Saying you want the calls to stop on these message boards are about as effective as telling the losers calling you!

We get calls from this company twice a day. I'm so tired of it and when you call the number they say press one and you will be put on their do not call list which is total BS as we've done this multiple times and the calls have not stopped.

I was given the telephone number 866 246 7196 to call as they were a company that would put a stop to all unwanted telephone calls that I would receive. As it turns out, this company only takes your telephone number and sells it to telemarketers. I was receiving up to three calls per day from unwanted calls. I now (within three days) received the following unwanted telephone calls: 316 453 7426, 240 672 0049, 209 753 4543, 234 321 3432,407 592 7554, 245 217 5142, 801 889 1993, 707 230 5295, 979 245, 2079, 661, 748, 0240, 321, 252 8472, 210 807 3264, 876 416 0114. Whatever company has the 866 246 7196 telephone number is merely a scammer. PUBLIC BEWARE and do not give these people your telephone number ever.

These are the same folks that trust Iran because we said "pretty please."
