This same number has left a message on my cell phone 4 times now in the past week.  I called the number back on my office phone and the recording said "B2410141 successful"  whatever the heck that means.  Very very annoying.

You can either ask your caller or take a fat hint from the five prior pages of remarks.

} I would like to add that I am also on the National Do Not Call Registry.
I would like to add that the DNCR does not apply here, as the FTC tried to explain when you registered.

National Do Not Call Registry Q&A
Can a debt collector call me if my number is listed on the National Do Not Call Registry?

} I'm also on dnc registry it doesn't do any good.
What "doesn't do any good" is to register with a service and dash away without understanding its scope and rules. See above reply to Rachael.

If you're going to split hairs with a fellow commentor (alias "Not gonna"), you might at least use the "reply" gadget and try to make better sense.

} "They're trying to collect on 'zombie' debt, or debt that has gone past its statute of limitations"
} no such thing unless they try to sue you or threaten to sue you.

"Zombie Debt" is generally acknowledged to refer to vintage consumer debt accounts which for various reasons cannot be collected legally or have aged past their "sue by" dates. No one, except you I suppose, requires a collection lawsuit threat before applying the slang term. The point is that the accounts in question should stay dormant, but grimy gamblers insist upon pressing stale and weak claims mainly because they are so cheap to obtain.

} "your admission restarts the time limit, or something like that"
} Umm, no it does not.

An "admission against one's interest" should not be enough to wake the dead claim. But county courts nationwide have long hosted lazy and stupid judges who think that alleged debtors become liable the moment they declare poverty, or faintly admit they might have owed, or get tricked into agreeing to pay some dubious refried bill. Meantime the plaintiff is never subject to the same scrutiny, and might as well hand off a napkin with dollar signs in pink crayon as proof of claim. Therefore, many legal professionals still recommend extreme caution in communications with junk debt collectors.

} "They actually threatened me with the sheriff and the city Marshall."
} Well one out of three is not a good record.

Errm, "one out of three" what? The person was reporting a verbal threat, not offering an opinion or conclusion. That kind of extreme threat is made fairly often by the caliber of scavenger under discussion. Are you sure of which side of that phone call needs your adverse assessment the most? Maybe if you take your own advice about doing the homework, you'll be able to answer that. At the least I think that "Mee" posting a day later had a better grasp of the problem and wrote with direct clarity you could learn from.

Same as the above ; the scammer left a message on my cell since I didn’t answer due to the caller I’d stating scam likely... the automated voice identified as Melissa Thompson never said my name however gave some  bogus  Office file # & stated she was from an outsourcing dept and a complaint had been made so I or a representative needed to call them or I’d be considered non-compliant. I have blocked the #

    Annoying
Called saying there was a complaint filed. It is a scam, they are trying to extort money. If everyone who received a call from this number filed a complaint using the link on the right at this site, for reporting phone crime, I bet this number would at least go away...

Called this morning and left message saying call back to 833-253-8572, not identifying who they are; but looking for me and saying they found a complaint in their outsourcing department and if I don't call back or have my appointed representative call, I will be non compliant.  sounds like scam to me!
