Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Same as 866-229-3821, 866-263-1169, 866-353-7145, and 866-229-1369.  They have called every day for the past several days.  As with the other number, when I called, the recorded message says that if I wish to be removed from their call list, I can enter my number.  I read elsewhere that this will only verify your number and that they will then sell your number to another charity.  Call blocking obviously won't work because they'll just call you from another number.  Sneaky!  I would never donate to them.  

This number phones every day. All I get is dead air.

Never, EVER, give out ANY information about yourself or your household over the phone or online!

Just don't answer calls from numbers you don't recognize. Your friends and relatives will leave messages accordingly.  Ignore calls/emails from those you don't know.  And don’t waste your time on “do not call” lists and the like.  These lists have a bazillion legal loopholes, and the callers are usually scofflaws anyway; they couldn’t care less whether or not they’re breaking the law.

Only when we take the profit out of these calls will they stop!

These charities are just hurting themselves with this harass in strategy.

I refuse now to give to charities that use this approach. I give because I want to give, not because I am being continually harassed.

I've called and pressed 1.Now to wait to see when I receive more calls.

Called @ 4:43 P.M. CT on July 13, 2014. Someone else in my household was foolish enough to pick it up, and the person on the other end wanted to talk to someone else from our household who was not available at the moment. My first housemate offered to take a message, after which the conversation promptly ended--more likely than not because, at least as far as I'm concerned, the caller simply hung up. Regardless, we've been called by the "Leukemia and Lymphoma Society" before via different phone numbers that they've used (spoofed?), and I think now's the time for us to put a block on them.

It's a call from lukemia society asking for donations. I have blocked several phone numbers from then and they call with different phone numbers each time. Annoying always during dinner.

Make up a foreign sounding language when you answer like, "Gzee scut jejebnee, vlen keddi pokozu ?" or something along those lines. Another is to answer with,
"Glenbrook police department, sergeant Swan speaking, state your name and why you are calling." Again, something along those lines.
