The beginning of the recorded message in my voice mail was cut off.  What I understood was: " ... expenses.  This is a free service.  If you or a member of your household has had a recent stay, you may qualify for medical assistance.  Please call our office toll free at 866-285-0041 [gives times to call.] The time to apply is limited, and you only have a number of days to apply for financial assistance. So please contact us immediately.  Again, our number is...[reiterates number and times.] "   If they ring my phone again, I am going to report them to interstate commerce or attorney general, or..... whatever.

It is a collection agency. The expenses they take about are covering medical expenses.  But it is a scam because they want to verify your number so they can collect.  This is a collections agency and not a hospital.

They just rang my phone again!  Have gotten several calls from them since my  post this past January.  Annoying!  I wish they'd stop.

Hi.  Are you sure it is a collection agency?  I received a call from them on Friday with a message for me to call back.

This was a telemarketer. The voicemail that was left said that if I or a family member has had a recent stay in a hospital we might qualify for ...blah, blah. Stopped listening after that.

It is definately a telemarketer not a collection agency.  Here is the message they left excluding the return phone number and hours of operation:

We are calling on behalf of Washington Hospital Center.  We help uninsured patients apply for benefits that may help cover their medical expenses.  This is a free service. If you are member of your household that had a recent medical stay.  The time to apply is limited.  You only have a number of days to apply for medical assistance so call us immediately.  

I received a call from this number on my cell phone and let it go to voicemail. The caller left the same recorded message that other people described. I've never used Washington Hospital Center, so there's no legitimate reason for the call.

They said to me that the call was from Holy Cross Germantown and they would like to confirm my personal informations, but I should give those info to them. For me, it's a scam.

Yes, I got the same message, but the health facility is Jefferson Medical Center.

Call regarding Holy Cross Hospital. My son was recently taken to ER via ambulance (he's fine-staples in head). I didn't have my insurance info on me at the time, but it is now being processed.
This is a legitimate attempt to help uninsured people deal with a medical emergency.
