- ASThey called and used my name from over 12 years ago to say that there would be a warrant for my arrest and I needed to push a number to be connected immediately or I would be located and sent to jail. Scammers who try to use fear to take your money.
- Caller: No name given.
- TY B.These people are very rude when calling them back and asking questions. I was threatened that they would summoned me to court because i was reluctant to verify any personal information which can be lead to "phishing" if consumers aren't careful. the reception is terrible who act very dolt like by hanging up on u while you're in mid sentence. They claim i had a debt that is 10 years old and not on my credit whatsoever. I'm dubious about this whole thing and it's wise not to confirm any personal info they may or may not have against you.

- Don't AnswerReceived the same call. They had the nerve to leave a voicemail with my name stating that they were looking for me and will file with the courts. These people are nothing but scammers and I hope they are caught, die, and burn in hell. Your best bet is to send them to voicemail.
- MyraOk! This number contacted my husbands phone. And asked if we knew a person that neither ones of us knew. Ok when I said I don't know this person they then brought up another name. That's when I went off and told them that it was a scam. Cause I had looked it up. And I told them I had reported them. Which I had already looked them up.
- Caller: Not sure they said they were a investigation co.
- BrandonMy son who has my same name received this call. Asked him for the last four digits of his social and hung up. He told me he figured they were looking for me. I called them back to make sure it wasn't legit. The man was very polite at first saying that I had a returned check from some random Freedom corp. said it went back to 2012, and that they were going to file papers in county court. I asked for some proof of the debt as I don't use online loans. That's when he got rude and told me he didn't have to prove anything. I told him to let them file papers. Amount in question according to him is 572.00. Joke is I have never used online loans and I don't owe this money. Strong arm tactics. Ignore these people.

- CWG40 replies to CrInvest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize. Clear debt collection scam. You might have to block the entire 866 area code; it is often used by scammers.
- CWG40 replies to CheriseReport them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.) The same goes for endless telephone harassment
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking), the only thing they understand. - CWG40Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.
