Wanted payment for an old check charge

Same here I dont write checks. FRAUD

Scam artists calling my inlaws of all people, providing them with personal information which is the first clue they are fraudsters..They are saying they want to serve me court papers and have been trying to contact me for months over a bounced check.  I asked them where i can meet the process server and they hmm hawed around and just wanted me to provide personal account information so they can scam money from me.  If they call you, please be aware there is no process server, no court filing or anything of the sort.  Just a phishing scam to steal money from hard working people.

Received a call from a Mr. Jones at
this number saying they are serving me with court papers unless I call them back and agree to meet with them.  They never say what the call is in reference to.

They not only called me but other members of my family.  Stating that they are collecting on a bounced check and need to serve papers.  This is total scan

I know that it is against the law and you can file a case against them and get money.   I am collecting info so a lawyer will do this for me.  He is not charging anything up front.

You can NOT be charged with a crime for a check that wasn't honored at your bank.  It is Payday loan places that were obtained on the internet.   Most loans on the internet are illegal and can be dismissed.

They have sold these loans to collectors and the collectors are trying to intimidate unknowing people.  I don't have the money to honor the check for many hardships that only followed that forced me to get a Payday loan as it was.   If Payday loan places would charge at most 35%, they probably wouldn't have people unable to pay.   They charge 700 to 1000 percent.  I believe loan sharks are the ones that do that and that is illegal.

Yes I just received a call from this scam artists as well, stating that they are going to take me to court.  
So I asked the them to send me all the paperwork and I will have my attorney look it over, these idiots think people are stupid.  I am not paying on any debt that is not proven to me in writing, I asked them for proof and they can never provide proof.  I was told to call the payday lender by a previous representative (seems like everyone is the Sr. Case Supervisor) and I did that and was told I do not owe them any money.

Just received this call at my work and my cell.  Bethany tells me I wrote a bad check to call Attorney at 866-285-6471.  The number she calls from is unavailable or private.  People, REAL attorneys do not call like that and process servers do not call and say "we are trying to locate you".
These tactics make me so sad, I wish they would stop.

I spoke with Bethany too!! Same scenario! First I get the call on my cell then at work stating they are trying to serve me papers on a bad check accusing me of fraud. I very seldom write a check and when I do, it does not bounce! Bethany Smith is what she called herself then she said she was putting me through to her 'supervisor' , which he said his name was Bill Graham. They wanted my phone #.....WHAT?? YOU called me! AND they wanted my DOB and SS#. I told them no way and if they have papers to serve me then bring it on.

A woman called my cell and left a VM stating she had been trying to serve me with papers to appear in court, she also called my work and left me the same VM telling me to call 866-285-6471 if I want to avoid being sued for fraud on a bad check, which I do not write checks. I called the number spoke with Bethany Smith and she told me the same thing. She transferred me to her 'supervisor' Bill Graham and he told me he would work out a settlement of $200 per month beginning June 14th with $100 being taken out of my account bi-weekly ending on Sept 20th. He also said there was a $9.95 convenience fee of $9.95 for each charge on my card. I canceled my card immediately.

Left message on my office phone. Identified himself as Tom Miller and looking for a person named Billy C****. Claims there was a summons with charges and he needed to meet with him before trial. Said if I am in contact with this person, to contact said person and let him know Tom is trying to reach him. Claim trial was today (same day as call). Then spit out a six-digit reference number (had to listen to message 4x just to get the numbers, this guy spoke too damn fast). I do not plan on returning his call, don't even know the person he named.

Personally, I believe this to be a debt collection call with deceptive tactics.

Some guy called me from this number said he was gonna give me a summons to go to court. I hung up on him and he came to my job.

I just got this same voicemail!  It was Bethany Smith saying she had my information from a bad check charge from my mom and that she knows I was involved. Obviously fraud because my mom doesn't have checks, and I live far away from her and couldn't have been there! They are just trying to scare us I guess. I have no clue why she has my name and info (only my maiden name though not married name) but I am not going to fall for this. Thanks for all your comments cause at first I was worried and about to call my mom and flip out lol!

Yeah, right.  Process servers do NOT call ahead of time to let you know they're going to serve you!
