We received a hand addressed letter with no return address postmarked Phoenix, AZ today and inside it says it's American Airlines and that we've won 2 free airline tickets to anwhere in the Continental U.S. from any major international airport.  To call Grace Pell Vice President at this number.

Look at your letter again. It's from American AirWAYS, not Airlines. No such company exists that I can find. We received the same letter in S.C.

I just received the same letter in the mail. The letterhead looks like crap printed from a cheap home printer.

Anyone have any further information on this? Has anyone called the number?

Turns out its a big scam. There are even people who have been paid to make videos online to say the letter is legit. Someone that called the number posted that they ask for fees, and tax money up front. SCAM!

We also received this handwritten letter w/ Phoenix, AZ postmark signed by G Pell in the upstate of SC.

    What a scam and they shouldn't have capitalized  'Continental' . . .

If these folks need money . . they should go get a JOB!

GIVE THIS LETTER TO YOUR LOCAL POST OFFICE ALONG WITH THE ENVELOPE TO REPORT MAIL FRAUD!!

I got the same letter in upstate SC dated May 7, 2012 from VP Grace Pell.  Too funny!

I found it rather humorous.  for several reasons
    1.  The last paragraph says "We have attempted contacting you several times without success. This is our last attempt."  I work from home (the company I work for is international and I work in IT so I have odd hours due to working with folks in other countries) so I'm ALWAYS home.  Never received a call about this offer.  That was one big red flag for me.
    2.  Printed on stock paper, ink jet printer, letter head was poorly used.  Look at it you can see pixelation due to poor image and NO COLOR!
    3.  No return address on envelope, letter and hand addressed?  COME ON!! A company would use printers to print the addresses on the envelope just like they printed your address on the letter, and would provide a return address.
    4.  STAMP?!?!?! Companies use metering to take advantage of bulk mailing discounts.  But to get this from the post office, you have to have a VALID corporate/non-profit/company (private or partnership)  tax id registered with the post office.
    5.  And Lisa is correct... capitalizing continental when it is used as an adjective and not a proper noun such as in "Continental Airlines" is another flag!

Got a letter today, requesting I respond before May 16th. the person who answered the phone said they were with Travel and Deals in Arizona. I am forwarding to SC Atty. General and Arizona Atty General, as well as FBI that handles mail fraud.

American Airways, hand addressed, no return address, signed G Pell, Grace Pell, Vice President.

several people in Anderson have received these and they are all scams.

My husband has received three of them in the last week!  They are a con. I am tempted to call them but don't want them to have our phone number too. They also said they were US Airlines in the first and  last letter they sent, but the second one they called themselves American Airways. They must think people are stupid to think that we would forget that the just sent out two others in the same week! They have the same "logo" for each supposed company as well.
