supposedly about student loans. i dont have any.

3rd call in 3 days, finally left a message. About student loans.  But never identified the business.

Received voice mail from unidentified man, no company name, urgently wanting me to call about student loan reductions that may be going away soon. Wants me to call back right away! Probably not.

I have received multiple calls and multiple messages regarding a federal student loan program with "recent changes." I have no had federal student loans in approximately 2 years, so I'm certain this phone call is some sort of scam.

I have included a transcription of the voicemail I received:

"Hello, this is David and I'm contacting you today regarding the review of your federal student loans. I just wanted to discuss the reduction of your student loans and also to inform you that due to some of the recent changes by the credit administration, the federal funding supporting any rate or balance reduction of your loans may permanently expire soon so it's pretty urgent that you give us a call at your convenience. You can reach me or one of my colleagues at toll-free 866-289-3692. Again, that's 866-289-3692. I look forward to speaking to you and have a wonderful day."

Received several calls within a matter of minutes also spouting the change in administration causing an opportunity for federal student loans to disappear..

"Hello this is David and i'm contacting you today regarding the review of your federal student loans. I just wanted to discuss the reductions of your student loans and also to inform you that due to some of the recent changes in private credit administration the federal funding supporting any rate or balance reduction for your loans may permanently expire soon. So it is pretty urgent that you give us a call at your convenience. You can reach me or one of my colleagues at toll-free 866-289-3692"

I just received the exact same call, and a person named "David" left the exact same voicemail.  The transcription software is a little buggy, so when you listen to the actual message, it sounds like "David" is referring to the "CURRENT" administration, not the "Credit" administration.  As with the original poster, no company name was provided.  I do have federal student loans in hardship forbearance, but payments are up-to-date.

Same exact call as above, I do have Federal student loans, but they are held by AES and Sallie Mae, I assumed they'd be contacting me if there was a change, rather than "David" from unnamed company.

I've had 4 missed calls from this number today. Finally, on the 4th, "David" left a message identical to the transcript above.

I received a call from "Unknown" that barely rang and immediately went to voice mail.  The exact same transcripts (see above) from David was left as a voice mail.  As I am down to owing two loan companies, one federal and one state, I'm pretty sure they would be contacting me, and identify themselves.  Not going to answer or call back.

I received a phone call with message same as every one did . Be careful , thos action must be taken. It is scam .

That is what the message left for me said - verbatim.

"David" called 4 times yesterday and today left that exact same message. My loans are all in repayment and are current. I agree that it's a scam and blocked the number

Called three times today in the span of minutes - never even really rang.  Identical voicemail left as above - my student loans are being handled by an agency so I know better than to answer unknown caller scam calls

Same as all the others. I'd expect ANY changes in writing so dismissed it. No company given is the first of many flags.
