When I picked up the phone, a recorded message saying the call was from collection agency, what the  heck is that?

Never name or to identify who they are or what this call is concering

I got the best yet... By MAIL ?
A notice that states I bounced a Check at a gas station (Anyone "Write" a check recently at a Gas Station?)  Station is a good 20 miles from my home on a date when, according to my check log registry, I shopped NO WHERE & the check number is 30,000 higher than mine?

Called for answers and NO ONE IS THERE TO ANSWER...?  Not even a Machine?  Hummm?  As a matter of fact, it rings one normal ring than transfers to a higher annoying ring that No One Hears???  Maybe that is because I am calling from my place of employment, not my home number?  Curious!

Are "they" SCAMMERS trying to extort money with a phony "Collection Agency"?

I was never told the name or business of the company.  received a call from this number asking for one of my daughters on my cellphone. I told the woman calling that my daughter did not live with me. She asked to leave a message. Then asked for alternate number for my daughter which I refused. She would not leave a msg or identify her company insisting she would call back. I warned her not to call my personal cellphone looking for my daughter. She still insisted she would call back . I asked her to leave a message and she refused. She again insisted she would call if I did not provide a number for her to reach my daughter. I repeated that she is not to call again and hung up.

Similar experience only this was a text that said "sorry, i'm busy.  Call back later."   What?  Why are you wasting my time?  Should be re ported.

I saw I got a voicemail from a unknown so I told my mom and she said ingnore it I decided to look in to it

I received a letter from them today (Complete Payment Recovery Services, Inc.) which claimed a check we wrote came back unpaid. The ck# did not meet our information and the date as well. When i called 866-295-5441 it rang once and then it changed the tone as if it was re-directed to another location. I spoke with a lady that took my information (name only) did not volunteer additional. After i complained she said she will report it as FRAUD. I think they are themselves.

They called my cell and asked about a check that had used at a Dillards, for over $400. When I reported that my checkbook had been stolen and the account closed because of that they understood and terminated the call.  the phone number is tied to a debt collections agency that has a website of paymentpost,com
