Said I was selected to receive a chase Credit Card with a 2500.00 non secured limit. I told them i was in Bankruptcy and they said that was Ok. Then they asked for my ssn dob and current addresss. I responded with... I thought I was pre approved? The caller said I was. When I asked him to give me the info he was looking for he just hung up. I looked the Number up on Google and didn't find it anywhere. I called the Number back and it said the number was unavailable. So I blocked the number

I received a message at my work phone # that didn't say who the company was or what they wanted only that it was "Of Great Importance" to return her call.   I called the number back and the recording said FMS, so I looked them up on the Internet.  I do not have any debt to collect but it appears they are a collection agency.

Got a call from this number...

It was FMS Inc.  They are a collection agency although they gave me the name of a secondary collector (Palisades) as a client of theirs.  They call you attempting to validate information in attempts to reactivate a ZOMBIE debt.  The caller attempts to scare you into thinking that the company who now owns the debt is going to pursue legal means to collect the debt.  Even to the point of saying that they are going to contact your employer to garnish your wages(not even legal in my state).

    My recomendation...
Check your state laws and TELL THEM NOTHING!!!
Request that they only contact you via mail and that you are not aware of any outstanding debts.

we keep getting calls from this company looking for someone that has never lived here. everytime we let them know that person does not exist at this number they assure us that they will remove us from their list only to call back a few days later for the same unknown person. They call themselves FMF, so i looked up a database of credit collectors listings and found "FMS SERVICES 1000 E WOODFIELD RD STE 102 SCHAUMBURG IL 60173 800-889-1952" The phone number leads you to the same exact recording/message system as 866-296-7952. good luck.

This is a collection agency and like most they are not too bright. Dont waste your time or risk saying something they can use against you on the phone. Send a certified letter to them and keep a copy and the green proof of mailing card (get from Post Office). Tell them you deny this alleged debt because it is not yours or whatever the reason is and demand they  send validation or proof of such debt with YOUR name and demand they also cease and desist all contact with you except for such proof. Once they get that letter they must stop all contact and provide proof within 30 days. If they cant provide the proof they cant contact again. If they do you can sue them for $1000 for each violation. Record all phone calls, Caller ID info and any letters they send. Then find a NACA atty in your area (check naca.net website) and sue them. Or sue them yourself if youre comfortable representing yourself in Small Claims court. If this is a legit debt you will get a letter from them showing proof. If not, most of the time they just go away but some of the really dumb ones will break the law and then you can make some money off of their stupidity. Dont let them get away with harassing you or breaking the law!!!

I've been getting messages on my answering machine from FMS INC. stating that the call is in regards to a debt and is "very important". When I tried to call back, the number that they left me was out of service.  The recorded message gave me a toll number ($5) to call to find out about this alleged debt.  :-S

A man called on January 28, 2007, and identified himself as Greg Brown and asked that my son call him back at 866-296-7952, ext. 1182.  He said he has my son's name and social security number and it's important that my son return his call. When I questioned him about the nature of his business, he said that it pertains to financial management, but is not a solicitation, and is very important he be called.  The caller ID on my phone was different than the number he gave me to call.  He said he will keep calling until he reaches my son.  He refused to give me the name of his company.

I received multiple rude and threatening calls from this number.  They use very aggressive tactics.  I called the Federal Trade commission (do not call registry) and turned their number in.  It is very easy to do.  1-888-382-1222.  If your phone number is registered, you can turn them in.  If it is not, then you can register it.

Do Not give out ANY information to this company.

Calls nearly everyday with the same message - female voice about a debt - seems to be a recording - perhaps computer generated.  Very annoying.

    doesn't owe crap!
I received the same call as Jim, the recording pronounced my name so poorly I could barely recognize what they were saying. I didn't think "Christine" was that complicated!

I don't owe anything and I also don't own any credit cards (don't believe in them) so it came as a surprise to receive this call, especially since it was on my cell phone which is just a pre-paid "go" phone I never use and never give out.

I will say that when I called the number back they had a recording of their normal business operation hours (I called on a saturday afternoon) After reading all this, I don't think I will bother calling back... I just get paranoid because I never get calls like this!

Yes very annoying and sneaky. I owe no debts yet they call my business cell phone every morning of every day. I once called and asked them to remove me from their call list and they said they would but did not. I am filing a complaint and will continue to file more complaints until they stop harassing me.

I keep getting a call for someone's name that's not mine, really annoying.

I just called back today to tell them that the person they are looking for doesn't have this number. The number is my work cell, and I got the phone about a year ago. The person on the other end said they'd take care of it... we'll see.

These people have called me at least four to five times a week for the past two months. Their call always appears as a different different phone number on caller I.D. (I never answer numbers I don't recognize), they never leave a message and if you call one of the dozens of caller I.D. numbers back it's an unintelligible female voice that just says "FMF" or "SMF" or "FMS"... something like that...

They call at all hours of the day and night (clearly illegal) and after two months I have no idea what they want. I have no intention of ever calling back during business hours to ask what they want, they've never sent a letter of any kind, so they have no hope of extracting money from whoever they think owes them. What a pathetic excuse for a business. I hope their client (whoever it might be) never gets paid. They deserve it for hiring such an incompetent outfit...

    Marta and Jeff
We've also received many robocalls from FMS for several months, at first they did not identify themselves, but now they say "FMS" and ask for a return phone call at 866-296-7952.  (seems to be the same outfit the whole time, same female voice with computer-generated pronunciation of Jeff's full name).  The most recent calls say "this is an attempt to collect payment for a debt."  We have no debts, not even a mortgage or car payment, no credit card balances, and no unpaid bills of any kind.  Since Jeff's full name is not uncommon, we thought it might be a mistaken-identity problem that could become a legal/credit nightmare.  I'm glad I found this site because now I know it's just a scam and I will report it to the do-not-call registry.
