Hi, good morning to all! This Steven Klein guy did the same thing to me.  First some girl called me on my cell phone from a private number I usually don't answer from private numbers or numbers that I don't know but I answered and they said that I was being served to call Steven Klein at 1-866-300-7907 he told me the same story he told everyone else and the bad thing about it is that I did pay the money he was asking me for.  Actually he asked for $1,000 dollars made in two payments I paid $500 on August 30th and I was suppost to have paid another $500 on September 30th.  I didn't google his name until yesterday that's when I found out it's nothing but a scam!!!  I went to the bank, closed my account so he won't have access to the account on September 30th.  Does anybody know how I can report him and try to get the $500 he did took out of my bank account?  Any help is appreciated THANK YOU!

I have been receiving these calls for a month now.  I always ignore them.  Every voice mail left is a threat.  "If I do not call them back today I will be severed.." Or something regarding a civil suit being taking out on me.  One difference is they say they are calling from "P I International".
Very annoying to have people who do this and bother you especially on a Cell Phone.

They called my dad this morning and left a message on his answering machine. Same "Lisa Taylor". "Lisa Taylor" said that my dad was listed as the primary contact for my mother. She said she was from something that couldn't be made out from the recording and that it was an important legal matter. She said to call back as soon as possible or the matter would be released to "the county."

Funny thing that.. my dad and mom have been divorced for almost 20 years. I knew right away it was some kind of scam so I hit the internet looking and found this site. Thanks to you all for reporting your experiences. I'll be turning this over to my lawyer who really can have an important legal matter turned over to the county against these scumbags. You hear that Paystar International and the rest of the names you're operating under? You're about to get sued. You picked the wrong one to mess with.

Lisa Taylor called and left a message saying I was the primary contact for my ex-wife. Because we were divorced over 12 years ago, sounded suspicious.  I was told there was a "important legal action" pending against her, and I should call Steven Klein or Karen Jensen from PI International and give a case number.  This was the second call like this in a year.  Of course I ignored both calls.  Thanks due to this site to post how bogus these calls are.

This Steven Klein called for my father and my sister took the call, they assumed it was about me because my father and I have the same name. He was asking for over 2.500,00 dollars. He said they were going to take us to court and gave us 24 hours to pay. If anyone is calling you check out this site: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm  it is really helpful.

I got a call just today and it was from a lady that stated there was a civil suit in my county for me and my husband and that I needed to call back before 8 pm today so they could make arrangements to stop the civil action. The number was listed as private. ( there were about 7 different calls from a private number on my phone today and I never get private calls so I assuming they were all from this company). I called and the lady asked me for my claim# I stated there wasnt a claim# left on the voicemail. She pulled it up by my phone# she stated and said there was no one to speak with me at this time that I need to call back in the morning after 9. She wouldnt tell me the name of the company or any information. Thankfully I googled the number after i got off the phone and saw this. I am so glad I did. I have since email my attorney general with the information I do have and reported it to the FCC as well. My phone number is unlisted and I dont even know how they got it.

They are still at it.  My call was about my daughter. He would give me no details except a "case number".  I was to get my daughter to call Steven Klein by Noon today...  I finally asked what name they were calling about.  He gave me my daughter's maiden and first marriage name.  That hasn't been her name for over 5 years.  Thank you all for the posts!

This is a scam.  They purchase your debt and then try to collect. Half the time they have blown the statute,so they're desperate.

    Same thing, same bogus scam.

They call my mom, my wife and me...I want to call them back to tell them to quit (have previously sent cease and desist letters, but both were returned, guess it's time to try that again).

I received message stating that I was the primary contact for my ex husband. (divorced for 12 years and no outstanding debt with him).  I was asked to call the 1-866-300-7907 # and ask for Steven Klein with my case # 83090 before 5:00 PM.   I was curious as to who this Steven Klein may be and found this site.  I will not be returning the call after reading these posts.

    Aso google 866-299-8558 or 866-755-1050
Paystar AKA Weber and Stevens & Porter and Martin

They use various phone numbers 866-299-8558 & 866-755-1050 and 800-300-7909

The people that call use fake names: Joseph Taylor, Lisa Taylor, Lisa Jackson, Lisa Weber, Susan Carter

If you got worried when they called you can quit worrying. They aren't the law. They won't sue. But, save every message EVER from this company.

If you talk to them, let them know the conversation is being recorded. And record. Ask to talk to a supervisor, ask for the name of the company and the company address and tell them they are not to call your phone number again EVER.

Under NO circumstances should you identify yourself, give out or acknowledge your birthdate or social security number over the phone. NEVER,EVER give out any information about any debts or any other private information.

If you tell this company to NEVER CALL YOU AGAIN and they persist on calling (under various names), contact your state attorney general.

A year or so after you've done that, they'll probably call again under another name and a new phone numbers. SO KEEP YOUR RECORDED MESSAGES AND CALLS. You will need them to file another complaint.

This call came through for another person that used to have my number.
The person calling said her name was "Lisa Taylor". She was calling for Claims Verification for Ronald Webb. She would not give any info...despite..my concern (as an elder). She said th have the person who used to have the phone (a family member) call Karen Jenson or Stephen Klein. Being an elder this call caused great concern. Sincerely mlb

I got a call today same thing all of you have been saying..threatening, official sounding etc. so, I called them. A woman picked it up and I asked her who are you? She said "I am just a receptionist. Do you have a case#" I gave the number the fellow had said and waited. counted to 60 and hung up! Its a SCAM!! Just for the heck of it, looked up the number on google and saw what all you good people have to say. Cant somebody put this guy in jail? Dont we have enough cheats and liars? I am so disgusted by the new and devious ways people come up with to cheat! Good luck y'all! and pass the word around. I surely will! Thanks for putting this info on the net.

Received the same call stating my son had a serious legal problem and as a concerned parent I should call the 866 number to speak with Steven Klein or Jenson.  Told them neither my son nor I would be calling the number.  He [Joseph Taylor] seemed quite surprised by my response.  I immediately called my son. He had no idea what it was about & while on the phone with me, they called him and left a message.  If he did not call the number within 24 hours, serious legal action would be taken against him. Do they really think people are that stupid...

I got the call yesterday, but with one slight difference; they said I was listed as a reference for someone else's case, a guy named David Juntilla. When I told the woman I didn't know the guy she was dumbfounded and was about to hang up, it was only when I pressed her, (out of concern for my identity), that she gave me the case number and the 866-300-7907 number.
I have yet to call, but I might call anyway just to hear what kind of things they threaten me with. I could use a good laugh.

Go to www. budd hibbs .com ( remove spaces)and get his cease and desist letter (free) and send to them via registered mail and they will go away, but they will probably resell your debt to another collector until SOL runs out on debt, different by state( for less money than they paid which is pennies on the dollar anyway) these guys are bottom of the dumpster can't scrape off scum....
