- PaulKeep getting calls on my work cell and my work. After reading my rights on the FTC website http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm, I submitted a compliant at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en. Don't know if it will do any good, but these people are really annoying, and they've never sent me a "verification letter" which is required by law that they do within 5 days of first contacting you.

- vitaI answered and it was very early in the am, once I see an 866 # or 800# I let it go to VM
but did answer to see who now,,
Nasty guy, asking for the owner of the home, and i said that person is not here and he went
on very aggressive asking is there another number to reach? when will she be back? than I
asked, wait a minute who are you and who is calling? than he said " I need to talk to ---
and again I said not here, and than he asked who are you? I told him another name of course
and asked him "what is this about, is she expecting your call ? or what is this about and who are you?"
he gave me a name that i never heard and told me that this is Personal , so i said that in that
case she will not return calls back, her rule is if no "information with details,, she will not return
your call so you can call back Mr. and leave a detail msg for her, I have no time to take info not unless
you are giving me more info, and I hang up " this is a good one when you answer by mistake or just hang up and say that person is not here,,, call back or that person is not longer around.- Caller: unavailable

- TjSSame here from 8663040566. They tried phishing info from the wife...which she declined. I called the number back in the evening(9pm), and "Amanda" answered with a Hi. No company name, nothing. She knew my name though, via caller ID,so this scam place has their CID system set up very well. I'm sure like the below posts this is either scammers or scumbags working off a very OLD credit list. Don't share ANY info with these morons!!

- bankruptcy survivor replies to imdaveymThe Federal Trade Commision. Under the fair credit reporting act what they are proposing is illegal. this is what they don't tell you until after you file bankruptcy. They are unsecured debts. Meaning there is nothing like a car or a house being used as collateral. under the homesteaders law they can't take your house if you file chapter 13(for sure) or 7 I believe.credit card debt is the biggest pant load around. obviously you should pay your debts but there isn't thing one they can do except cut you off for a while and harass you if you don't
- Lw| 1 replyCollection agencies are scum. They buy old debt the banks write off their books and then begin calling and harassing people for money they do not owe. These debts are settled, bundled and SOLD to collectors, much like scraps. The money they make goes in their pockets. They will not clear your credit report if you pay them, so dont do it. Banks keep 2 books of record and believe me they are out nothing.
Tell the collector they are wasting their/your time and you are on to their game. Hang up on them.
Funny, after they stop calling you may get a call from a totally different agency asking about the same "debt". The previous agency got tired of trying to collect off of you and then SOLD your name to the next patsy who bought the "OLD" settled debt.- Caller: Financial Recovery Services

- Lw replies to LwYou can also ask them to provide you in writing a "claim". They cannot produce it. Ask for a "wet ink signature" from original documents. They cannot. There is no claim, it is all fraudulent. A monthly statement from a credit card is not a claim. Offer nothing on the phone, only deal with them through the mail. Keep any correspondence and use usps green cards that require their signature if you have to mail them something. No faxing, no conversations via phone other than the above questions. Have fun!

- Jack OphLook, ... Check the Statute of Limitations in your state to see if there is anything these scavengers can do legally. If you're past the SOL, tell these A$$WIPES to pound salt.
The absolute worst thing you can do is make a payment on the debt, ... that "resets" it and it can then be reported on your credit report.
Look folks, ... you are dealing with the lowest of the low. Let me put it this way, ... do you know anyone who aspired (s) to be a debt collector???
I didn't think so. That should tell you a lot about what you are dealing with.- Caller: A$$WIPE$, INT'L

- LonnaI have had it with this number and this "Alonzo" person. He says we owe an old Menards bill that was paid off in 2008. It has been through four, now five collection companies and everytime we dispute it and never hear another word about it for awhile then it will pop up again with another scavenger collector wanting to "settle for half or less." I told him I wanted proof of owing and to see all the information he had and all the information about the original debt he claims to have and he got loud, yelled at me and threatened that he would just keep calling until I settled. I have never ever admitted to owing anything. I have protested this for the past four years and I am so sick of it. I have disputed a company saying they were lawyers. I looked it up online and yes they are what they claim but they are a collection service. I had not heard a word from them for about two or three months after disputing it all and in detail all the payments made, all the bank statements etc and sent all the copies to them. I assumed it was over with then got this idiot calling me. I am so tired of it I am going to try a legal site that specializes in sueing collection services that do not follow the regulations set forth by them. The site really tells you a lot about your rights what you can and can not do what they can't do etc. http://www.fdcpa-attorney.com/recent/134-can- ... all-you-at-work that is the link to them. I hope that someone somewhere some how will shut these zombie collectors and scavengers down but I doubt it a great deal. As long as there is crooks that want to feed off the people of this country then it will never go away. I have more respect for a tick them I do for them. I would love to have their home number and call them all night and day long. I would love meet them face to face. I would not want there jobs to feed off the poor people of this world with intimidation, threats, and out and out lies. They are lower then whale poopy at the bottom of the ocean in my opinion and need to be shut down. No matter what happens never I MEAN NEVER EVER TALK TO THEM OR ADMIT TO THE DEBT OR THAT IT EVER WAS YOURS NOTHING JUST HANG UP AND MOVE ON THEY WILL SCREW UP SOMETIME AND YOU CAN SUE THEM. Isn't that a trip, to sue the ones threatening to sue you????!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have a better chance we aren't liars that want to bring up the old debts in the first place. Hope the site helps out someone, even if it is just one person it would be worth it. Take care and good luck to you all. Lonna
