Rate Reduction center:  Asked if I was interested in lowering my Visa/MC rate and then, they ask for information they should already have.  I told them that I was not comfortable with giving information they should already have and ended the call.   I next called the credit card customer service and they said there is no such program.

Shawn, extension 243, identified himself as a representative of the VISA/Mastercard Customer Service Center.
Since I know these are 2 separate companies, I was suspicious.
The offer was too good to be true: Reduce your rates on existing Credit Cards, so you don't switch.

I got this call back number when I asked Shawn.
I got am answering machine when I called back, that was consistent with the call.

I asked for a web site - Shawn didn't have one.

Don't know if it is fraud, but I wont give them my CC# without a lot better assurance that they are real. I'd verify the program with the issuing institution before handing over the info.

Rate reduction center. Recieved a call soliciting me to press 6 if I wanted my credit card rates reduced. Mentioned Visa specifically. The representative asked me if I pressed 6 to reduce my credit card rate, I said, "no, i pressed 6 to get off your call list" and the guy hung up.
