This number calls 2 times a day, Sundays also, and hangs up with no message. They even hang up when I answer the phone. Finally, 2 days ago, an Indian woman on the other end says she is calling from the offices of Alliance One and it is a "business call" for my husband. So he gets on the phone and she wouldn't even tell HIM why she was calling until he gave her his social security number. He, of course, said he would not. He told her he would not give ANY information until he had verification of who is talking to and why they are calling. He got complete silence. Then she just kept saying "I need your social security number to verify I have the correct (NAME). He told her he was geting off the phone now. The same woman called again today, will not say why she is calling, only that they "want to verify the social security number" of my husband to make sure she has the right person. When I told her she already spoke with him, and that he won't give out his social security number over the phone, she hung up on me. Very odd. Since we have no credit card debt, no medical debt, no car debt, etc., I can only think that this is a scam to get personal information/social security numbers. I would assume that even a debt collector would want the chance to collect and not play "I've got a secret".

Oh, and an interesting note... these phone calls are always immediately followed by one of the scam "auto warranty" phone calls. Within one minute of each other... Every time. (I could verify the auto warranty calls were scams. They are coming from someone's house in Florida...)

For several months, I have received numerous calls per week from this number.  There is never anyone on the line when I answer.  Today, after the second call, I called the number for the first time.  I spoke with a lady who said she was calling from Alliance One about a Bank of America account.  I suspect this is a debt collection agency calling anyone with a similar name to a debtor.  We have NO accounts at BoA and never have. The lady was rude, but didn't ask for personal information.  I filed a report with the FTC today and sent an email to Alliance One about the harrassment.  We, too, get calls on Sundays, etc.

Two calls today (Sunday) to a business line in my home. One at about 11AM, the other at 4:30PM. Both were two rings and then... nothing. I finally got curious and *69 tells me it's the same number many of the other contributors are complaining about. Based on what I read here, I'll not waste more time or money trying to call them - but it is rather curious and irritating.

I'm suffering a pression for this number as I have debt from a Bank of America from an old credit card when I was on a program of ODTE at Virginia 1 year ago. So please and track those delicuent.....
