THey are calling and saying that they need a Krista or Beck Williams.  We have let them know several times that they have the wrong number and that we do not know any Krista or Beck.  Our last name is Williams but we are no relation to these people they are looking for.  Then, they accuse us of lieing and say that we are these people and they will send the cops over to our house right now.  We have told them to go ahead because then they could check our IDs and see that we are just being harrassed.  We have told them to remove us from there list several times and they just keep calling and being very rude and calling us liars.  I am so mad and I will be looking for a way to turn them in for harassment or getting a lawyer.

Received a call from this number 1-28-2008 - They are looking for a person named Janet with the same last name as mine.  They said they would remove my number from list.  I spoke with June about this. She stated that JC Christensen Assoicates is a debt collection agency.

received 3 calls on my answering machine so far (May 2008). It appears to be a recorded call on their part. "It is imperative that you call J C Christian and Associates today" They don't identify who they are looking for. I called the number back after hours and the automated system asked for a social security number. Not wanting to bite on an ID theft scam, I called back today.

They were looking for Gary who have the same last name as I do. I don't know this deadbeat, but apparently he thought it was funny to give out my phone number as his own. This was just another one in a long list of debt collectors looking for him.

I am 88 and they keep calling and they are very rude to me and told me that they are going to put me in jail....Make them stop calling me ASAP.

If this debt collector threatened to have you put in jail, then they are violation of federal law and probably state laws, too.  It's important to remember that no debt collector has the authority to have anyone arrested for anything and it's illegal for the debt collector to threaten or imply otherwise.

Here's what you should consider doing:

1) File a complaint against J.C. Christensen online with the Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en 

2) File a complaint against J.C. Christensen with your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.naag.org

3) File a complaint against J.C. Christensen with the Minnesota Attorney General at http://www.ag.state.mn.us/Consumer/Complaint.asp or call 651-296-3353 or 800-657-3787

4) Call your local police and file a complaint against J.C. Christensen. Be sure to tell the police that J.C. Christensen threatened to put you in jail.

5) Sue for damages.  If a debt collector violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (and illegally threatening a consumer with jail is most definitely a violation), then the consumer has standing to sue the debt collector in federal court for damages up to $1,000 per violation.  Many consumer law attorneys work on contingency, so don't worry about not being able to afford legal help. There are many such lawyers who practice in this area and would, I'm sure, be very interested talking to you about this matter. I get the "Christenson" part in the message.  They won't tell you WHAT company they are calling for at all.  And they always say "its very important that you return my call today".......so why do they continue to call for weeks and months?

Leaves message to call back with following number 866-319-8619. Does not ask for anyone by name, and leaves messages all times of the day. Supposedly a debt collection agency, but I think they are fishing, because they do not seem to know who lives at our home.

All but one individual was professional. She was a b***ch. I called back and spoke to another representative and advised him that his co-worker needed public relations training. I even used her name, but he denied knowing her. I called him on it and got him a little flustered. They will not tell you what they want unless you give your name. "You called me" doesn't work with these fools. Make a mental note of the number and don't answer.

I get at least one call a day every day or every other day from these people, I can't carry my cell phone where I work so I never get the calls, I don't answer for anyone not on my contact list on my phone, they can leave a message, and they do.  I don't know what they want, I've never called them back.

These [***] have been calling me for several months to collect on a legitimate debt, even after I explained to them that I am working with a debt reduction agency. They claim that they have called this agency and they "have no record of me and have never heard of me" which is absolute nonsense.

Now they are calling and harrassing my parents. When I contact them, they claim the only reason for their call is to inform me of a change to the account number for the debt, which is also [***] since they can easily contact the debt reduction agancy and inform them of it.

These guys are just slimebags who buy up unpaid debt at pennies on the dollar and then try to collect. They are bullies and will violate any Federal or state laws concerning harrassment or fraud to collect that debt.

I'm going to contact the state attorney general and the FTC concerning these [***]. I suggest you do the same.

Grand Donaldson who works for JC Christensen called my employer.  I have told him this is a violation of FDCPA and he challenged me so I hung up on him.

These idiots call my number and leave a message to call back. They don't leave a company name, just a message to call them back. When I call back, the guy who answers hangs up on me.
