Got a call from this number along with several other numbers with different area codes the past few days. My robo blocker answers the call with silence and there is the same persons voice on each call. He just sits and says hello with a mild accent. After a few annoyed sounding hellos, he hangs up. I can hear voices behind him like they are calling in a call center or spoof center.

received call. did not answer. let voicemail take care of it. no message. Suggest you employ same technique. Method to filter all unknown calls, even 1-866 exchange.

Call from some Indian guy saying he’s with ATT. I told him that he’s not, that what he’s doing is illegal, and to stop bothering me.

He gathered himself together, then said, “Well, actually I’m with Direct TV, and they ARE the same company.”  I’m getting into this—wasting HIS time, time where he could be ripping off someone, but he’s with me.

No, they’re NOT the same company, I told him. “Well, they WILL be!” he said.

The messiah MAY come, but today Direct TV is not ATT, AND you called me to scam me. What you are doing is illegal, I repeated. My little salesman is unfazed.

He pauses. “So are you interested in Direct TV, or not?”
Unbelievable.

No, I’m not, I repeated. I do not hang up the phone, hoping to waste more of his precious time. At 2m52s a recording announced, “You have been kicked from from this conference call.” A CONFERENCE call, from some unknown shmuck across the world—in a tiny cubicle, possibly wearing shorts and sandals, while eating a midnight snack... REALLY?!? So that’s how they do the musical telephone game...

If we think that we are truly on top of the world, how is it that these grubs are bothering us in our own homes, at the hour of their choosing; weaving ridiculous stories in an attempt to find the one person who unwittingly falls for their shtick—as in the elderly, primarily. Where is the FTC in all if this?

My husband received the same call about DirecTV and AT&T. After I told him about these comments, he called DirecTV. They confirmed this was a legitimate call.

Legit number, spoofed call. And DTV is wholly owned subsidiary so ATT and DTV are the same company.

Called just now,clearly didn't answer.  This is the 7th spam phone call my cell-phone has received today all from different numbers

BLOCKED. If you leave a message there is a SLIGHT chance I might take your call the next time. Now you are just BLOCKED.
