- EmmaI get a call from this number all the time...it is the same thick accent talking about they are from US Pharmacy...I have this number blocked now, and every time it now calls...it is followed up by a call from 608-371-6666 which I have now blocked. It is just a matter of time until they get a different number..I suggest you record this call, and I have done, informed them I am on a do not call list, and if they continue to call this number it will be reported to the AG office, which I am about to do.

»YOU are your own best defense against unwanted calls! You can use a call blocking app, device, service or procedure to block such calls.Click_This_Line_for_Methods_to_Block_CallsHere are some tried and true methods for reducing or eliminating repeated spam / scam phone calls:
1. Do not answer the phone if you see an unknown number on your Caller ID ... let it go to answering machine or voicemail. Many telescammers hang up after three or four rings.
2. If you have a smartphone, get one of the inexpensive or free call blocker apps at your online app store, and learn how to use it.
3. If your cell is not "smart", read the manual to learn how to set up a "group". Assign the scammer's phone number to that group. Also assign a "silent ring" to that group. You will not hear future calls from that number.
3a. Alternately, assign a "silent ringtone" as the DEFAULT ringtone. Then, assign your favorite ringtones to friends, family, contacts, businesses, etc. That way, you will not hear your phone ring, even if the scammer changes numbers! (This is also called "whitelisting", and will cause you to miss calls from non-whitelisted numbers, so be careful!)
4. For cell phones or landlines: Contact your phone service provider. They may have a facility or method to allow you to block numbers.
5. For landlines: there are several call blocking devices and services available. Use your favorite search engine to find one.
6. DO NOT call unknown numbers back without checking who called (800notes is your friend)! All that does is verify your number is "live". Instead, read this:

The thing is that they never introduced themselves or gave any company name. Someone in comments said it's a Community Pharmacy Service but I'm still in doubt. I guess I shouldn't worry since they threw the Medicare name in there message to get my attention. NOT!!!!!

- AgitatedLeft message saying they were calling on behalf of my medicare provider regarding my prescriptions. Funny thing is, the number on my caller id does not match with my pharmacy. That makes me suspicious even though she did know my name.

She just kept saying she was calling on behalf of my medicare insurance company which they are contracted with and she just needed to ask me a few questions. I asked her what were the questions and she said she could not tell me that until I verified some information! What kind of nonsense is that? I didn't believe it was legit from the beginning but I just wanted to see what she had to say. I told her if my pharmacy had questions they would be calling me, not CPS (which I'm sure doesn't even exist!) I am so sick of scammers. There are far too many people who trust that these are legitimate calls and give out personal information which is a shame. Everyone needs to be informed to never give out personal information on a call they did not initiate!
