Debt collector, [***] off!

Called at my work and left a "detailed" message with a receptionist about some "legal matter" and that he was a process server.  I am reporting them to my HR manager also.

I got a call from 866-321-5958, I asked who they were, gentleman asked if I would be at my residence? I hung up on him. The next day I was served with legal documents to appear in court. Be careful!!!

Was hung up on four times when all I wanted was an email with some info on so called debt

a male caller said he was the county clerks office and wanted to know if i was at home he was sending a sheriff out to serve for court.  I ask for what and he said he couldn't tell me to protect the other party. But he gave me 866-321-5958 to call and find out who its from before the sheriff comes out. A man answered and said it was amc collection agency. He said he just pulled my credit and he bought it form HBSC company and wanted money from me.

I too have been called by these ppl. Was left a VM from a man named Michael Jones saying that I was to be served tomorrow and he wanted to make sure someone would be home. He said if his firm didn't hear from me, I'd be considered 'failure to appear.' I had no idea why I'd be having papers served to me so I called back in disbelief. I spoke to another man named Chris Marley who informed me that I owed $2000 on a debt from HSBC (that was charged off for $600 in '06!). He basically gave me the option to pay or be served the next day then said if I didn't pay I'd be taken to court and all their fees plus the $2000 would be garnished from my wages. Totally ridiculous! I don't know what they're really capable of but I'm gonna find out.
