- exsdinan5I received a call from a Michelle Santiago this morning (02/20/2014) at 10:16 (EST) from an "Unknown ID". This woman, "Michelle Santiago" said that she was calling from, "Legal Support Services" and a COD Documentation would be arriving from my local county (She said the name of the county I live in) within the next 48 hours between the hours of 12pm-4pm and I would need to sign for it and show two forms of ID. She said if they were unable to to reach me at home, they would attempt to deliver it my place of employment and my Manager or Supervisor would have to be present as a witness when I sign for it. She said if I had any questions about what I would be signing or needed to reschedule the delivery to contact Claims Services @ 866-321-6243 and provide the docket # she supplied. When I called the number she provided I reached Dominic Paul Candino Attorney Office. I looked up this law firm and found this info: Dominic Paul Candino is a full service law firm concentrating in Matrimonial Law, Criminal law, DWI and traffic law, Commercial & business law, Estate planning and wills, Real estate transactions and Personal injury. Mr. Candino has been in practice since 1995 and is located at 1395 Union Road in West Seneca, NY 14224. He represents clients throughout WNY. Phone Number 716-674-8900. I checked the Better Business Bureau for this company and nothing could be found. I also checked my local county auditor website and ran a comprehensive name sure on myself to see if there were any recent cases filed against me and it return nothing that was new or pending on my record.
So in conclusion, I think that this is another Collection Company which is through a Law Firm used to scare individuals into paying a debt.....it is common for Companies who you may or may not owe money to pass the debt to another collection firm or a Law Firm to scare you into paying on a default payment.....don't bit the bait. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act or (FDCPA) you are entitled to certain rights and it is really important that you read over what Law Firms/Collection Agencies can say and can't say to you.....also, it better explains the procedures to validate a debt and specific rules about contacting you, your family or your place of work. This is a good site to read more about this kind of situation: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/debt_validation.shtml The FTC.gov is a great resource for helping you complain and get results, as well as your States Attorney General. I hope this information helps. Don't let it scare you into paying something you don't owe or allow them to say things that aren't true. Again, read over your rights and what can and can't be said to you.- Caller: Dominic Paul Candino Law Firm

- Fake| 1 replyThey are a collection scam tryed calling me saying I would be taken to court I didn't pay them and never was served if you paid them reverse you payment ASAP
- Sir Bedevere replies to FakeI believe this is true and the initiators of this thread are shills who work for someone behind a fake debt collection scam.
Don't ever accept a debt collection notice by phone, insist on *written* proof. Those who won't send it in writing have something to hide: Themselves. From the law. - MidNYteStorm replies to TonyLet me guess, you ran into a brick wall?
- Tred replies to chellWhat is it about the Buffalo Bullies? Seed a thread and hope it works out?

- Resident47 replies to JenniferSure you can. Demand that Legal Support Whatever cancels your unverified debt and sends you a couple grand for making false legal threats. If nobody there wants to settle the matter "on volunteer terms", sue them in federal court for twice as much. Well, I guess that might not work for you since your defendant-slash-boss at the extortion shop wouldn't approve.
