This number called me but would not release who the were due to that no information was given call was hung up by csr

I called the cowards back..they are Elevate Recovery, some kind of medical bill recovery service

They are elevate recovery trying to collect for an ambulance my 95 year old mother had in 2010. Kaiser already took care of it. They want me to pay them $150. No way! I recommend just ignore them. Don't even waste your breath calling them.

Medical bill collection agency trying to collect on bills from over two years ago that have already been paid.  BLOCK CALLS!

I answered, said hello twice,, waited and waited.. nobody picked up.. I have no idea who they are.

Collection agency telling my wife we owe money on a hosp bill that was paid 14 months ago. I checked with the hosp and they have no idea why a collection company would be calling. I gave the hosp billing dept the contact info for the collectors and hopefully that will end that. If they contact you about a bogus bill/amount; make them give you the name of the facility (they will try to say 'A hosp' or 'Your doctor') and then have that facility contact them. Don't get into a debate; they don't care they just want a credit card or bank number.

O.K. everyone, here's the deal... this is a Limited Liability Corporation in Plano, TX. The name of the co. is, Elevate Recoveries, LLC  (214) 473-5060  http://www.elevaterecoveries.com. It has a BBB Rating of B-, but it is NOT BBB Accredited. (BBB: Better Business Bureau) While many companies do become accredited with the BBB, it isn't mandatory. This company is a Healthcare collections company and according to their website, it was created to "Elevate" the patient's experience during the collection process! According to the BBB, the company received a B- rating due to (1) claim about Billing/Collection Issues, but was resolved on 6/7/2013. I found this interesting, since the company only opened on 1/28/2013!! Sounds like they don't have everything running smoothly as of this date. They state on their website that the company is owned and managed by (3) long term health care collection professionals!! I found some names, if anyone is interested in returning their calls!! Just in case anybody was wondering, no I don't work for them; and yes, I've received 5 calls from them since 5/30/2013 until today, 7/1/2013. They've never left any message on my answering machine either. At least now we know who they are... we have a more even playing field to deal with them!

Received a call from this number while I was in my car yesterday. When I said Hello, they replied - Thank you for holding, how can I help you! As if I had called them! She never stated what company she was with. I told her - You Called Me! She called a second time - and I said - You have the wrong number. Normally I do not pick up the phone if I do not recognize the number. I just purchased this cell phone a couple of weeks ago and didn't expect a solicitation or scam call immediately. Well now I know better. I bet our government officials and celebs don't have these jerks calling them. But our officials even use our private numbers to make calls to us about voting for them! May be if enough people showed up to protest our government would put an end to these unwanted calls once and for all. A private number should be just that.

My wife got a call from these guys today, caller wouldn't give her information about what they were calling about (other that the name of their company and that it was a "personal matter") until she would give them personal information, including the last 4 digits of her SSN (which she would NOT do).

this company called me but would not tell me who they said I owed until I gave them my address.  I told them I could not give the my address without knowing what it was about then I hung up.  But the number they called me from was 866-327-7040.  They said they were Elevate recovery.

They called me and introduced themselves as Elevate Recovery.  When I asked what the call is about, they just tried to get more information from me by asking for my address.  I told them I do not take calls from people who do not identify themselves properly, especially those who are asking for my information.  I find that very unprofessional, in case they are even legit!

I received a call from a afro American saying he was from elevate.  I asked "Who is "Elevate" ?   What do you do ?   The male said he could not say.   I said If you are a collection agency "I owe no one any money.   So  Don't call this number again.  I will report you if you call this number again.

Receive a call from the number 8663277040 and no one ever answers. tried to call them back and it did not go through. They usually call after gone to bed, but sometimes earlier. I don't give out information on  the phone to people I do not  know so they won't get any information from me. If someone asks for information, I ask them what they have and just tell them "if you say so". Gets annoying that they can harass you anyway and anytime they want.

I received two calls from the 866-324-7040, but they would not identify themselves. I hung up.

Received a phone call from 973-500-6264, came up on caller ID as Andover, NJ.
Message said it was for me - first name only, and to call back Elevate Recovery at 866-324-7040.
After reading all of your posts, thank you so much for them, I have decided to block BOTH numbers from my phone!

They called me and had an address from 18yrs ago they said I owed 1600 hundred dollars from a ambulance ride from 2008 I told them I was covered by medical insurance and Medicare I told them I was 100% covered and they told me to prove that I was covered at the time they sent me no paper work 1600 was just a part of a bill that was outrageous to begin with less than a mile ride cost thousands of dollars what a racket !!! They said they got this last April I think there are scam artists??

This must be the month for "all the scum to come out of the woodwork"!

Two weeks ago I got a phone call from "The IRS- said they were going to arrest my wife within 24 hours if we didn't provide this jack wagon with her SS number . That was 3 weeks ago, and she's still here!

Then the ""ass wipes" from Elevate Recoveries send me a letter, saying I owe on medical bills from 2 years back - the funny part was I got a letter from my insurance company the same day, stating I was owed a $30.00 credit from the very same hospital!

They all buy "lists" of supposed over due accounts, from the "overdue account list company" hoping that some innocent person will pay.

Throw any letters away - disregard calls -only way
to not make it profitable for these clowns !

Yes, this thread does show a tendency towards abusive, deceptive, and unfair business practices as does their BBB complaints. http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/co ... ano-tx-90465004 in the debt collection world they always have an excuse to place blame on every thing else other than their predatory and abusive tactics that prey on debtors, their relatives, and friends. The Plano TX reference also caught my attention as far as networks, associations, and affiliations that may include EGS, APAC, Protocol Global Solutions, all part of NCO Group. I wonder also about a connection to the Convergys network!
