I got a call also reference a BMG Columbia house account from Preston. I contacted BMJ and not only do we not have a balance but my wife closed the account 6 months ago. This is a scam!

I received a call from Samantha @ Takhar Collections Agy stating that I have an outstanding balance with BMG/Columbia House for DVDs/CDs. I told the rep if this is a outstanding debt then for them to send me something in writing because I do not have any knowledge of this bill. The rep stated she wasn't sure if she was able to do this, but I could settle the account right now and have no negative reflection on my credit report.  The address of Takhar Collections Agy is 1623 Military Rd Ste# 537 Niagara Falls, NY 14334 and tel# is 800-898-4426. I was able to get this information from Samantha; however, I think this may be a scam; therefore,I did not give out any personal information.

THIS NUMBER CALLS ME EVERY DAY AND WONT LEAVE A MESSAGE

A person, "Nash Brown", was calling for my father from this number. When I explained that he was not available, he asked if he could leave a message. Taking his name and number, I asked the nature of the call to which he replied that it was an "urgent business matter".

Nonsense.

Received several calls from Preston Watson demanding to be called back by 5:02 pm eastern time. Left reference number TC5401 and the number 866/329/3564. Funny thing is. The messages were left on my place of business's employee hotline. It only has a voicemail that I check daily.

Got this call and it was unavailable. So naturally, I didn't pick up my cell. Suprise to get a voicemail and listened to it. Preston Watson with that number and TC5041. Glad I look this up and see that there's a lot of result confirming it's a scam. I hope I won't get repeated calls though.

i got a call from this company regarding a debt i owe to bmg sumwhr in2006.whr as i came to america in start of 2007 from india.they say tht it maybe sumbody else who made purchaes by my name.whr as i didnt kne kne any1 in america b4  i came down,.nor any of my family memebers are here. its strange. they wanted me to give my card/check details to them i refused.they threatned me & hung up on me.

Someone from this number called my office and left a voice message. They said they were calling about my "claim" and that I should call back immediately using the number they called as reference. I will not call them back but how do I get them to stop calling my work? The only name they said was TGC. I've never heard of it.

Got a call today from this number. It went to voice mail. The message said:  "This is a message regarding your claim that has been filed here in our office at TGC. Your prompt return phone call is needed as soon as possible to resolve this matter. Please return the phone call at 866-329-3564. Have the phone number you received the message at ready."

I have not filed a claim of any sort.

Received a call saying that a case had been placed with them and to call them back and give them the phone number that I was contacted at.  The message that they left on my cell phone was a recording.  The caller ID was "Unknown".

this number showed up on my caller ID. I called it, some foreign guy said give me your number you are calling from. I told him you have my number you called my phone. I asked what this was pertaining to, he siad for a claim. I told him I had no claims and asked how they got my number? He said again are you going to give me your number, I said no, you called me, you have my number. I hung up on him. He is a scam artist.

Yes, I have recent experience with these people.  It is Takhar Collections Agency and they are out of Ontario Canada with an office supposedly in Niagara Falls, New York.  They are very rude and will not send you anything in writing - they just want you to pay a debt.  Unfortunately the one they said I owe I really do owe, but under the Fair Debt Collection Act a debt collector has to send you something in writing 5 days after they contact you.  They have never sent me anything in writing.  I told them if they kept calling and didn't send anything that I would sue them.

these people outsource their business to india.they are indians calling us all the way from india & they are given american names..so the personal/payments info. which you give them ,,travels all the way to India..BEWARE OF THEM

They call me once a day everyday and ask for a lady that has never had my phone number and want her to pay her bill on books she bought. I've explained that I don't know her and she's never had my number. They are rude and keep asking for my phone number, which they obviously already have, and keep asking for that lady. They've been calling me for about two weeks and appears they won't stop. Looks like my only alternative is to change MY phone number which I've had for 5 years!

A relative of mine keeps getting phone calls for me from this company.  I have never used his number or given it out.  It was about a debt that I did owe.  I called the original company to find out what was going on.  They resolved the debt because I had already sent their merchandise back to them because I did not want it.  The guy from the collection company is still calling, though.  I told them the debt had been resolved with the original company, and that he should contact them to find out about it.  He said he could not contact them, but if I pay the bill, it will be resolved and he will stop calling me.  I refused.  He got angry.  I hung up.  He is still calling my relative every day, sometimes more than once a day, regarding this bill.

we receive this call several times a day, they want to speak with my husband, he works late and I refused to give them his cell phone or work number.  He claims he can not tell me what it's about because of the privacy act.  I have a right to know if my husband has a debt that i'm unaware of.  My husband refuses to call them back.  I checked with the BBB and they have a ton of complaints against this company and they aren't registered.  
This company is very rude on the phone.

I received several messages on my business phone from "Techar Group" who said they were calling about my file, and that it was urgent that I call them back.  I don't have any "file" with such a company, nor do I have any delinquent bills at all.  I didn't waste my time calling them back. It's a scam, without a doubt.

If you have no idea what he's talking about don't pay any money.  He would actually have to file a judgment against you first with which he would have to provide you with a copy by certified mail.  If they are especially rude, they really are scamming you.

at 130pm rec a call for a call for my son... said it was a takar groub' company/... guy from india...thick accent.. said it was for a claim for him,, he has no bills.. so it sounded fishy.. we asked what claim and he said he could not discuss.. so we asked for a supervisor .. the caller named austin lee..became beligerant with us and was rude and put us on hold and said later  that the supervisor would not talk to us .. to call the 18004331914....so we called our lawyer and said it would probably be a scam....
