i was called today about an old Mervyns debt for $813.00 at least 2 years old. We cut a deal for $487.82.  I figured mervyns went bankrupt? right..well yes..but ge money bank holds the notes..and it was finally time to cough up the cash..anyway...

I have now received 3 calls from this number - 1st on my cell saying we are trying to serve you please let us know when you will be home between 9-4pm so we can come out or call this number 866-333-4149 and they can stop the process for you, I'm just the "legal processing department", 2nd to my parents (I'm almost 50 - they are in their 70's) saying I had 3 hours to call or a uniformed officer would be there to serve me (that was 11 days ago - of course it freaked my folks out), 3rd today on work phone this time from the "fraud" department and if I or my attorney didn't call immediately someone would come to my place of employment or residence to further their investigation.  When I called anonoumously they would not tell me what company they were.  I don't even need to understand my rights to understand that 3 different stories and threats with no follow through are nothing to be concerned about.

If they serve me, then I file in return, get mediation and work out a solution - but I take with me my documentation of how they proceeded.  Don't give anyone money over the phone, ask for proof of debt, many states mandate mediation so you can be served, file yourself to ask for a hearing and mediate a resolution that will be most likely better than any settlement over the phone.  So far I have tested this 2 times (had a bad year back in 2005 and have some outstanding debt) and the 1st time they did not show up at court so it was not only dismissed but I was given a judgement against them for the "prevailing party" and my filing fees for a total of $170.00.  I would have to "sue" them to get it and that's more trouble than worth - but I'm no longer receiving calls and the debt is off me, the 2nd one did show and we worked out a payment plan that I stick to and was reasonable.

Yes, I live in Hawaii, Maui to be exact. My daughter, is who they asked for, it was
not for me...so I called that number back & for some strange reason, my call
to them did not go through...I can not reach that number from Hawaii...I am hoping that this is not any kind of collection agency or some type of scam to collect something from my daughter. The women I spoke to, her name was

Had the same call. I ignored it the calls but they started calling family members. I have 2 recordings about summons to appear. I heard the same spill about the uniformed officer. We too checked and there was nothing for us at the Sheriif's Dept. My daughter works in collections and told me this is totally illegal . I want to sue them but do not even know where to start . I am in North Carolina . Any suggestions anyone ?

Just recieved a call from these clowns. All I can say is the message they left wasnt even for me. LOL what a bunch of crap.  I would not pay a dime to these morons.!!!! Serve it up. Oh wait you cant cause its a scam. Yeah thought so. You need to quit making phone calls and go play in traffic.All they want is your info to either clean you out or sell it to someone else. Dont be fooled. Call you local authorities. They can see if you in the court system to be served.

First of all anyone low life collection fool who calls not only to say he will have you arrested but served needs to kicked in his plums!!! Ah A: thats harassment B: its illegal.. They are just a bunch of scumbag scammers. They get really mad when you ask them to quit calling or ask them to identify themselves. They also make threats to garnish federal wages which is illegal! I keep calling them back and they do not want to be reasonable and def not professionals not even in a criminal sense of the word. They are lame lame lame! I have reported them to the FTC and I suggest anyone getting these calls do the same. I also record all conversations I have with them!
