- Joy| 8 repliesI just got a call from them. Do I call them back or not? They told me that a summons would be issued. This guy said he was a pre-trial investigator David Anderson. Then he told me case number and would be filing formally. I would be named respondant and I would have to call his office immedately. What do I do? Is this for real? He said I was notified and needed to contact them today. These people scare me and I don't know what to do about them.

- collectors-r-criminals replies to Joy| 1 replyThey need to provide WRITTEN evidence of the debt upon your request before taking any action. If they can't do that, they wouldn't even be able to go to court. Typical intimidation tactics. Know your rights do internet search on "FDCPA" plenty of resources.
- Joy replies to collectors-r-criminalsThere is nothing about these people on the BBB. I cannot find anything about them anywhere. I am looking up that site now. Any more information will be greatly appreciated.

- LAMET replies to jimWELL to be honest - I consider this post to be full of BS. Just some scumbag who works for them trying to scare others into paying them money they probably do not owe and this collection agency has no legal right to collect..
IF YOU REALLY NEED AN ATTORNEY - www.budhibbs.com - there you will find advice and links to QUALIFIED ATTORNEYS -not all attorney's are qualified to handle debt collection issues. Many will work on contigency - legal eagle| 1 replyAdmin Edit: "It's a SUSPECT message!"

I'm an attorney in New York and i have gone up against this firm twice. In both cases theyu were able to prove their case without the benefit of original contracts or documents. All they need by law is an affidavit of the debt, they can and will sue you. In both of my dealings my clients ended up paying through the nose due to legal fees and court costs, but if they would have just listened to the guy on the other end of the phone they could have settled for 60 or 70 percent of the debt.
BTW my clients originally came to me to sue Bryant, Lafayette and Associates. Too bad they couldn't see their way past their own pride.- Caller: Bryant, Lafayette and Associates

- collectors-r-criminals replies to legal eagleAnother post from the collectors, little more creative showing they are just as prepared to impersonate lawyers on the 'net as the are on the phone, but transparent nevertheless. You guys are getting better but still need to work on your style LOL
- LA LadyI got a call saying I had 24 hours to call back with any final statements regarding the complaint they had?!! I called back and spoke to a John Rosino, who didn't state his name until I asked for it and didn't give me his last name until I asked for it, there was laughter and talking in the background, sounded like he was in his living room. He kept contradicting himself. I asked him to send me a copy of the bill in question and at first he said no problem but towards the end of the conversation I asked him again to mail me the notice letter and he said he couldn't get it but he could send me a letter from him stating whatever he told me over the phone?!!. Bottom line is he sounded way shady, unprofessional, made sound like he was doing me a favor! That there would be no fees to pay them if I paid my bill in full with a postmarked check (red flag) I think he thought I was scared or that he convinced me, I'm getting legal representation, I rather pay a real lawyer than those clowns. Don't fall for it!!

SCAM MA'AM TRUST ME IT IS NO SCAM THEY R REAL COLLECTORS AND YES THEY CAN SUE U IF A LAWYER IS TELLING U THEY R A SCAM THEY R IDIOTS THEIR IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEIN A SCAM AND NOT TOTALLY HONEST A SCAM IS GETTING U FOR SOMETHING THAT ISNT URS IF U DO OWE THEN ITS RIGHTFULLY UR DEBT EVEN IF THEY USE SCARE TACTICS BUT DONT GO INTO COURT TELLING THE JUDGE THEY R A SCAM WHEN THE DEBT IS UR DEBT BECAUSE U WOULD LOOK THE FOOL AND HAVE TO PAY YOUR ATTORNEY AS WELL AS THE LAWSUIT AND TRUST ME LAWYERS ON BOTH SIDES WORK ON THE SAME SIDE - collectors-r-criminals replies to JESSICA| 2 repliesCool more ALL-CAPS LIES from a scumbag collector who thinks you don't need to know your rights. We love hearing from crooks like this because it means that this site is working!
Now "Jessica" surfing time's over it's back to the boiler room with you! - 3rd Party (its not my debt)I got a call from these guys today, for someone I know. Of course I dont give that persons information out because its not a legal requirment. What is illegal is calling a 3rd party for a debt. I recorded everything and am in the process of sending it to State Attorneys offices (my state and others) the FCC and FTC. And for fun I will send those letters to the boys at Bryant and Lafayette Assoc.
They all make up names and have no idea how to follow collection laws. Saying they were with the warrant department, or saying they represent clerk of the courts, or that they are an attorny. "Steve" "Anthony" "Jonathan" all the same person over there. Good luck with the DA on that Bryant and Lafayette Assoc. Call someone again that has no debt to be collected.
Oh and there appears to be some debt collectors on this site acting as non-collectors. I advise all people with an outstanding debt to pay it or contact their attorny to handle debt collectors. If your debt is under the staute of limitations for your state you will have to pay that and court fees. Please check with your state laws. Be aware!!

After all it is a debt you owe.- Caller: Bryant and Lafayette Assoc

- Upset Worker.NEVER TRUST ANYONE - ESPECIALLY THESE PEOPLE....
Travis tried to say he is an attorney. I called the 866# and asked for Frank Wright after he tried to say he was the Attorney General of New York, when he is not and his secretary's name is Travis. They were advised more then once no to call my work and still continued to do so. They lied about who they were with as well. Pretty sure none of this is legal and nothing is being done about it.- Caller: BRYANT LAFAYETTE & ASSOC
