If I pay a ticket that has been listed with a credit bureau, will my credit file be cleared?
Normal practice in the credit reporting industry is to retain a reported debt in history for a period of seven years, even if a debt is paid during this period. However, in the interest of our customers, we have requested the collection agency (Professional Account Management L.L.C.) to automatically send a delete record to the credit bureaus whenever a collections account has been paid in full. Therefore a record of your delinquent ticket debt should disappear from credit bureau records once the payment is received. As a record of payment is sent from the collection agency to the credit bureaus on a weekly basis, and because a record of your payment may need to be communicated to other credit reporting agencies which did not receive the primary listing, you should allow a reasonable period of time for all records to be cleared. All communication concerning the status of your tickets with credit bureaus should be directed to Professional Account Management, L.L.C. (866-353-7145).
I will say that these guys are complete jerks. They call ALL THE TIME – If I answer the phone, they hang up. If I call them back, they don’t recognize my number. It’s insane to the point that I have had my attorney draft a letter and is sending it to the LLC group to cease and desist. I’m not having any interaction with them, and only through my attorney. I’ve never received a ticket, and if it was that bad, it would have already been reported to my state’s DMV for reciprocity. For whatever reason (and I can name a few) – these guys are idiots.- Caller: Professional Account Management, L.L.C.

- tigger023These people got themselves in trouble over a year ago and had to pull all the entries from the credit report they had placed on individuals. They had a ton of them complaints on their website. They were placing information on individuals credit report before even sending out a 30 day right to dispute letter, in addition, individuals had already paid the ticket but listed as unpaid on their credit report. I believe the FCC had gotten involved with this matter. It's worth checking up on again so they wouldn't ruin your credit with this nonsense.

- Camelus| 1 replyOne of my family members did a dial back to 868-353-7145 on 20 Nov 2009, it appeared on our Verizon phone bill as an international call to Chaguanas, Trinidad. For a 2 minute call we were charged $3.32, fees of $0.68, for a total of $4.00. Call these people back at your own risk. If these guys are working for the DC DMV, I will be asking for an inquiry into the contract the Washington, DC DMV have with this company and why folks are not warned that it is an international call. Thanks for the info from others as to who these people are.
- bgg9 years ago I parked at a broken meter in DC and went to see a movie with my son. I got a ticket. I tried to reason with the DC authorities that the meter was broken. No luck. I eventually gave up and paid the ticket. This year I started to get calls from this number seeking payment of the ticket. I told the caller I paid. He said I needed "proof." I told him that after 9 years I don't have the proof and he could start legal proceeings and good luck. Since then I get the calls about every 3 days. I'm waiting until after the New Year before I find out who the company is and report it to the authorities for harassement.
- archieI, too, get calls several times a week from this group. They claim I paid a ticket too late and that I therefore should have paid a late fee. I paid the ticket on time and am guessing that the DC government processed it late. THe ticket goes back at least 8 years and owes to a snow day when the DC govt first said that parking was not bound by snow regulations and then mid day changed their minds. It is annoying to get these calls but I don't want to pay a late fee when I was not late. I would think that this firm bought the "unpaid" tickets from the DC government and keeps what they collect rather than collects this on behalf of the DC government. But I don't know. If the firm is hired by the government to collect these fees (rather than having bought the unpaid debt itself) perhaps it is possible to try to get the DC government to change course and fire this firm.
- rickThey repeatedly call our number but we got this number from Verizon over a year ago and I keep telling them they got the wrong people but they still keep calling. I think it is criminal what they do calling every day or so after we told them the person the ask for is not at this number.

- tcThis company called my work line over the holidays - no message. I returned the call thinking it was work related from my cell phone. After speaking with someone they removed my work number from the record that was for someone else. A week later I received a collection call for the same person (not me) on my cell phone. Supposedly their system automatically inputs any new calls into the records (although I'm a little unclear on how it was automatically associated with a file for another person).
I thought it was over at that point. Only to receive another call on my cell phone today. When I called back they said it was "automatically" associated with the file for this other person again when I called to get it removed???
Personally, I think it's a scam. The amount was just $25.00, so some people might just pay it.
Can you report collection agencies for harrassing you over someone else's debt when you repeatedly tell them it's not you?- Call type: Debt collector

- SisterjillMy son got a parking ticket in DC in 2000. Yes, that's right. 2000. 10 years ago. The car was in my name at the time. He didn't pay it because he said the sign was obscured by overgrowth.
Apparently he didn't dispute it properly and the fine doubled. So, about 18 months ago, I started getting calls--at least 2x a week. Mind you, this is 8 years after the original parking fine. I spoke with a person one time and was told I had to pay it even though I wasn't the driver. I told them I didn't own that car, had not been in DC and had no intention of paying them 200.00 for a ticket my son received 8 years ago. I asked them if it had been reported to the credit bureaus and they said, "not yet". When I asked what they would do if I didn't pay it, they said, we will continue to call. So, they can call til the cows come home. Frankly, there are statutes of limitations for most things, and in my opinion that time had past before they even started calling. I just never answer them and erase their "Hello, this is an important message" message.- Caller: unknown

- bugsI'm getting calls concerning people I've never heard of!!!! When I try to ferret out information about who the caller represents, he/she becomes very aggressive and a bit offensive. The various names they ask for all contain the same last name, but different first name. There is NO REASON for them to call me about any of these people.
- nopayThey had no way to track me down(no phone),so they called everyone with my surname listed in the phone book, including my father. Now,he thinks somebody is out to get me.I guess they are,but it seems excessive for a $40.00 parking ticket.Well, they will never see that $40.00,after harassing my dad at 9:30 at night. And people wonder why I'm paranoid.

- Maryland USAAfter seeing this number on the DMV FAQ page I called to see what ticket and when. It is a 1998 ticket for $50 bucks! I asked why no correspondence in thirteen years? And why the harrassment on the telephone (calling nonstop before 9 am and after 9 pm)? I reported the harrassment to the FTC.

- JGLooks like Professional Account Management is gearing-up for another shot at trying to collect very old debt for the DC government.
I am a long-time DC resident who has MANY unpaid tickets dating back to the '90's and even '80s. These vehicles are long gone along with the tag numbers they are calling for.
Unfortunately, DC does not have a statute of limitations for parking tickets. That is to say, once the ticket is placed on your windshield, you have been "charged", so the ticketing official has ended the clock on any limitation that may have covered your offense. You park in a two-hour zone at 12pm and the meter maid places the ticket on your car at 2:01pm. Your crime occurred 60 seconds before she placed the ticket, and your statue of limitation went out the door with her action of placing that ticket!
Anyway, my wonderful money-grubbing city has started calling me again after a long absence via this out of area company who thinks I am about to roll over and pay some of these fines. Ain't going to happen. "Professional" Account Management will have just as much of hard time trying to collect now, as it did roughly three years ago. In fact, it will be even harder than before thanks to some of these great new phone features and software that has become much improved in these last few years.
Here is a link from DC's dmv site officially stating that they are using this company as their henchmen.
