Called Met Life Auto and home at 1-800-638-5433 and asked about QVC's claim to be acting on behalf of Met Life 866-354-5939.

Q: Do you work with this company? Do you have them call me?

"We don't have anybody call you. I don't have records about them."

Q: Do you have a fraud division?

"I can provide you with the number. The number is 800 462-6565 8 AM to 5 PM M-F."

This is a company that metlife hires to review your policy prior to there renewals.

This is a valid call from a MetLife vendor (QPC) to confirm the basic rating information on your policy. Usually you get a letter prior to the call asking you to call the same number, or provide the info online. If you don't call them back, or provide the information, it could result in a change in your policy to the "default" rating information. This could cause an increase or decrease in your premium.

I called my insurance agent (who happens to also be my sister-in-law) and she stated that it is a legitimate call from your insurance provider- MetLife.  The phone calls were the follow up to a letter in the mail which I received about three days prior.  They just want to make sure there are no changes to your policy.  Just make sure that you call them back before the date on the letter.

You know, when these people call, they should have their name on the number so the ID phones say who it is.  The way it is now, as far as I am concerned - even if MetLife - I'm not answering.  Why not place a call to your insurance agent and find out?

It was metlife insurance. It's safe to give your information, they just wanted me to update my policy. I got a letter a few days ago.

Yes, this is QPC calling on behalf of MetLife. QPC only  is to increase your  premium. This is usually done by checking your daily usage. Tell then to not change your policy, and  document your call. Then check your usage between current and renewal policy. QPC is very crooked.

This number is for policyholders of MetLife Auto & Home to confirm rating information related to their auto and homeowner policies prior to renewal.  A letter from MetLife always precedes an outbound phone call. Occasionally, it is possible that the telephone number belonging to a non-MetLife  policyholder is dialed. If you receive a call and you are not a MetLife policyholder, we apologize. Please let the representative who calls you know and he or she will remove your number permanently from the customer call list. Thank you.

I received this letter several weeks after adding my child to the policy, so it seemed suspicious, especially since the number was unfamiliar.  I called MetLife and they confirmed that it was OK to call the company, but since I was uncomfortable about it, the Rep noted that my account was updated and current.  I do not consider this "best practices" in Customer Service.  Any calls I receive will be told so.

Seriously,  the way the letter goes out is suspicious to me.  An unfamiliar phone number, regarding personal information, that actually threatens customers.  "You MUST (underlined) call 1-866-354-5939 by December 31, 2012 (in bold) to confirm your policy information. Thank you"  Or what??  My policy is current.  Why should I call you instead of my insurance agent or company directly?

The company is called QPC, MetLife has contracted them to update policies before they renew to make sure everything is still up to date. It's to my understanding there are quite a few dishonest agents and policy holders that fabricate how much they drive to get lower rates and that's why Met has had this company step in. The questions only take about 5 minutes and if you don't have anything to hide, it's really no big deal.

I have received numerous calls on my cell phone from this number. After reading these posts I am even more suspicious because I don't have a MetLife policy for anyone to be calling me about.

Recently I'm getting the call from this unknown number everyday.
about half years ago my father had went to Korea so I am now using his phone number.
IDK what company of insurance does my family have and I am just an 8th grade.
and I am also poor at speaking English so I'm still afraid of calling with others through the phone.
    what should I do.....
Is it ok to put this number into my spam list?
