The guy said he was Jason Gray from a theft & fraud company and left this number along with extension 310.  He was looking for my brother, however, I do not have a brother!

received a message from Investigator Russo with the Division of Theft fraud and concealment that my husband and I have had several complaints filed and it is a very serious matter.  Stated tht it was not a collection call.  Is this company Cobb and Assoc?

Got two calls first one wanting my husband to call regarding a case they were investigating. Pulled up this webb site so I didn't call back. Next day got home and there was another message this time for my husband or me to call. This time they did say it was regarding my husbands brother and the name they gave is my husbands brothers name! I called them but nobody was in. It was late when I called. I'm not sure what to do. My husband brother has a lot people he owes money to. We have gotten a phone call before on a truck he is not paying on before. We thought maybe this was the same thing. Does anyone know if this is a legitmate thing!!!!!

I have investigated this company and they are definitely legit. They are who they say they are and they will do whatever they say that they will do!!!!! If they call you I would definitelty advise for you to call them back. Not only it embarrassing it could mean your freedom if they come to your house. NO JOKE!

Definitely legit the investigator....... I looked up is real...... If this place calls you...... don't play games.... it's not worth you having problems.........

they called me looking for my husband- he has been dead for 4 years- they also called my son demanding information - They posted a false number on caller ID of the local police. I called them but they say no one there placed the call and it is a SCAM.

They called my home looking for my son.  I haven't heard from my son in 3yrs.  He is in the middle east doing something for the federal government. The woman that called told me her name was Pat Smith with the Dallas County Theft and Fraud Unit, and left me this number to call back: 866-360-2906 Ext: 318.  She told me have him call before he gets arrested.  I said arrested for what?  And she went on about some car.  My son to the best of my knowledge has never been in Texas. This is some kind of scam and I don't appreciate.

(1) There was no caller ID. (2) Instead of asking to speak to somebody, the phoney "investigator" just started talking about a fraud. Whom did they want to talk to? Possibly the person who used to have my phone number? Obviously a phoney phone call! MY OWN PERSONAL RULE: Never answer from (or return a call to) a number that has no caller ID or a "company" who implies it's part of a "governmental agency" but doesn't use the words like "Dallas County Official Government Agency." They can't say that because they are a phoney company, trying to scam you.

THIS IS A FRAUD ITSELF.... I believe it has something to do with ALLIANCE ONCE... collection agency.  My husband called the 866 # for some Investigator Johnson and refuse to tell him what it was about so my husband refused to tell him what he was calling them back for.  They got frustrated and hanged up, then they called right back from a local police dept. # and I called them too but they have no idea what I was talking about.  I called the King County Sheriff Dept. and made a report.

I just received a message on my phone from the same #, with ext 302. She was looking for a man name David Guerrera...who is that?? She stated he was involved w/ some kind of fraud scam! I don't know anyone name David Guerrera, let alone I am not even hispanic!! That lady got issues!! I called the # and ext back, the lady wouldn't answer any of my questions. I am very upset and I am going straight to a local tv station and have them run a segment on this; Call 3 Investigates!! This is ridiculous!!

I received the same call, couldn't barely hear what the person was saying, it was all gravely.  But I did make out the phone number and called them back and received what everyone else has received.  My parents actually received a voicemail a couple months ago from these same people (although I think the number was different) asking for me.  I don't live with them so they passed on the info.  I tried calling back at that time and received the same stuff.  If it is repo, it wouldn't make any sense in my case since my car has been paid off for several years.  So I don't know what this is, but I sure as heck am not giving my info to some random message machine.

These guys are contracted by Chase Bank for collections which is often for auto repossessions. I believe these guys are technically BWA General Investigations Unit, a collection agency for hire to find people. They are complete [***] because they will say ANYTHING and do ANYTHING to find someone. I assure you that the limits of common decency do not apply to them. They will spoof phone numbers to convince you they are someone else. They went so far as spoofing the local police department phone number and my best friend's phone number to trick me into answering the phone. They called my parents house and said that I had been arrested and needed my personal information to release me. Luckily, my parents called me before giving them any information, but what sort of person scares elderly people by telling them that their child has been arrested!!! The absolute best thing that you can do is not answer their calls and not speak to them under ANY circumstances because you can't believe a single word they say. If they contact your friends/relatives, tell them to say that they don't know you and hang up the phone. Simply do not give them an opportunity to speak or the will you will get wrapped up in their web of lies and tricks!!! I can't say it enough times, DO NOT speak to them.

It is legit. They call when they can't find the person/vehicle. In my case I was happy to help as it's a person who has done me wrong. I'm sure if you are trying to protect yourself or someone else you might get angry at their tactics. But in my case, the person in question has floated through life never having responsibility for his debts including a big one to me. And I don't care what the investigator does.
So, no scam. The investigator told me what they are after and I know its all true cause the person in question had been bragging about it to everyone I know. And if you are trying to help someone who owes money, don't worry, this company will likely find someone angry like me who will spill it all.
