I was told I was listed as an emergency contact for a lady named Michelle Goings. He also said she had legal issues and I needed to pass this onto her. My husband also received the same message on his phone.

I got a very threatening call today from a very rude lady saying I'm going to be taken to court for fraud and even named my county.  She called my brother, ex husband and my aunt.  They all said she was really rude and that they needed to contact me and give her number to me.... When I spoke to her and asked what it was for she gave me a number to call and to ask for the legal department .... I feel very uncomfortable calling, but I did and it went into voicemail with no name just an extension.  Has anyone else gotten this call?

The ID themselves as "Atlantic" whatever that is.

Only a public prosecutor can file charges of fraud.  Debt collectors have no powers or arrest and cannot file criminal charges and have no influence on the criminal justice system.  This is a scare tactic to make you pay them some money.  There is no legal department.  These people are debt scammers.  Do not talk to them.  Do not call them back.  Block their calls.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

Yes got same call today...advised by my attorney they are scammers.
