"Eric" from "Capital One." Wanted to "go over some information together." Translation: we missed a payment. At least it was an actual non-prerecorded human - with a very soft-sell, polite message; refreshing change.

It is Capital One wanting to talk.  Missed payments.

I called capital one fraud department using the well published Capitol One number who has verified this is not a legitimate number. Calling the number to mess with the scammers, I have uncovered more information. I applaud them to an extent, they not faltering in trying to get account number at all cost. Even after I straight up told them I knew this was a scam and wouldn't provide any information, "ok I understand, i can better assist you if I have your account number

They called me asking for a different name and wont stop calling me back I have told them not to call me again, I blocked them and they just leave voicemails

Stop lying.

Why are you replying to a post that's 10 months old???

They do continue to call even if I have called them each month to update them that I am still unemployed and have no way to pay at this time, they have left voice messages that if I do not make a payment within the next 7 days they will sue me.

Legitimate debt collectors are forbidden by law

I got a call today from this number, but I was not home.  My payment is due on the 8th of each month and it was paid on the 4th, so I am assuming that this is a wrong number thing since everyone is saying that this number is for missed payments.  No message was left.

I JUST got a call from this number not even 30 seconds ago and decided to look it up and it brought me here!  It doesn't matter how old the original post is...They can/will still call from the same number...

I just received a call from this number but chose not to answer.  Instead I looked up the number and my search brought me here.  I do not have, nor have I ever had a Capitol One card or account so they should not have any reason to call me unless they are trying to scam me out of money!  I called back to see who it was and then apologized for calling the wrong number when they said they were calling from Capitol One.
