- Bob MacReceived a call from this number. It is Bell Canada doing upgrades to Internet service in areas where it is slow. The caller knew all my info without me telling him. Made an appointment for a Bell tech to come to my house and inspect modem and connection. Advised driver will be driving a Bell Truck and will have Bell Id. The agent identified himself and gave Agent number.
I called Bell at 310-SURF and spoke with an agent. She verified that Bell is indeed trying to improve customer connection speed and also read a letter from Bell advising suspicious people like me that this is a legitimate service.- Caller: Bell Canada
- Rev. John HilliardIs this call legitimate? re: internet

- Andrew| 1 replyI received a call from this number (1-866-366-8212) last week; a woman named Janice (Canadian accent), who claimed to be calling from Bell, said that there had been some service interruptions with my Internet connection and told me that Bell would like to send a technician to fix these issues, both inside my place and outside. I hadn’t noticed any problems with the Internet connection, but I agreed to have a technician come over the following Tuesday to check the line and modem.
However, after thinking that the call was rather suspicious (it’s hard to believe that Bell would be looking for extra work to do, especially without receiving any complaints), I called this phone number on the Monday in order to cancel the appointment, but could get only a recorded message (even though I was calling during their supposed work hours, 10 am to 8 pm).
I then called the main Bell phone number (310-BELL) and managed to speak to a customer representative, who told me that the call and appointment were actually legitimate. I still requested a cancellation (as someone pointed out above, this might be a round-about way for Bell to sell upgrades, maybe through a third-party company of some kind). However, before getting confirmation of the cancellation, I had to spend about 30 minutes on the line, because the customer rep passed me over to a technician who kept me on hold while he checked various things. Despite getting the cancellation, I’m half expecting a technician to show up tomorrow anyway.
Overall, the calls from this number do come from Bell, but it’s difficult to say whether or not there is some kind of scam involved (eg, trying to trick customers into paying for service upgrades they don’t really want or need). If Bell is genuinely trying to help customers (which is a good thing), it needs to find a better way of approaching them in order to avoid suspicion and wasted time.- Caller: Bell
- pissed off bell customerYes these calls are legit. I have been complaining about my internet service for a month and Bell has been working to find a solution to the problem. They do call before they visit and they might enter your home to fix any wiring too. Keep this in mind. If the fix is related to Bell Internet service any repairs are FREE !
They found a bad answering machine causing some problems and I then removed it. They are continuing to check to make sure my line is clean and working correctly. I signed up for Call Answer service for an extra $5.00 per month because I need an answering machine and so far there have been no problems.
Don't call the phone repair service they will charge you money to do the same work. - SebGot a call from this number (with the call display showing 'Bell Repair'); no message left. I've not had any problems with the phone.
Apparently, Bell doesn't now about the existence of an answering service where one can leave a message if there is no answer. Go figure. (I use Bell's own service BTW).
Because no message was left, I can only assume this was a marketing call under the guise of 'technical services'.- Caller: Bell Canada
- Call type: Telemarketer
- SebTwice more in the last two days, each time no message left.
Definitively a marketing call.- Caller: Bell

- Dr. PiloniYeah I got a call aswell..
It is a legit. number for Bell Internet Repair.. They usually do proactive calls where their systems indicate there is a issue with your service and they call you to make sure this is actually happening.. If it is then thats when they send out a technician to repair the issue for you.
They strictly do bell internet repair based on reports the systems indicate regarding slow speeds and disconnects, no sales pitch, no telemarketing.
Remember to always ask for agent ID number when verifying the legitimacy of the a call to 310-SURF.
No worries, theyre only there to help - MikeInteresting... after reading the aforementioned writings, I suppose there might be "some" legitimacy to this number, (866-366-8212). However, they told my wife we were experiencing an "unstable internet line". So, the next day I got on line, and spoke with a Bell Rep, on line. He advised me the number too was legit. But for phone lines, not internet. He also assured me that he could see NO issues with my internet.
So I called one more day after that, and too received Bell's answering service, where I left a message to call me back. They did the following day, from where my ident-a-call showed a number of, (613)785-8191, with a name of "Thomas Pilon". With my curiousity up, I called this Bell rep, (who identified himself as "Geroge") out on it. He was surprised that it did not come up as "Bell Canada", and he didn't know a Thomas Pilon. So, he said, he too did not see an issue with my internet line. But that, when he tried to call my house a couple of times earlier in the day, he received a fax tone. " I HAVE NO FAX MACHINE". LOL. In the end, I believe this is a legit call, but is trying to sell or get people to upgrade, when they probably don't have to. Be Careful!!!

- Bill StewartI also got a phone call from George 866-366-8212 stating that there was some concern with my internet and they wanted to come around and check it. Just checked with online Chat Services and they said it was legitimate.

Received phone call this afternoon from a person who gave me this number (1-866-366-8212) to call and confirm the appointment is legit or reschedule/cancel, the caller sounded middle-eastern and I was hesitant as they were reporting they have seen many disconnections and slow-speeds on my line which were detected based off a test center (which I have noticed periodically - at least my sons have). I had received many calls over the past two weeks from the number so I called the 1-866-366-8212 number to verify and spoke with a manager there who confirmed that they are an outsourced team who reports off data that is collected in Canada off customer's modems automatically. They call off of an automatic dialer so they will not leave a message at any point unless you call back to them as the dialer just continues on with the next number.
The manager told me that anytime the DSL light flickers a notification is sent to them, and whenever they get above a threshold they are added to a calling list in outsourced areas or Canada depending on whether the issue is related to slow speeds (outsourced) or disconnects (Canada).
I did a speed test with the manager @ bell.ca/speedcheckup and we were able to see that I was paying for 7MB and only getting 4MB and he confirmed that the neighborhood was getting 8MB so I would be able to get what I was paying for. He told me this is the best proof they can do to show our speeds are low.
The manager told me the technician would be installing a dedicated jack in my home which would be filtering away the phone noise from the internet line and vice-versa. I had the beige filters on my line previously and those would be replaced by a new jack so that the speed would be consistent to the home.
Was using this site to confirm whether they were legit or not and the responses were a bit misleading. The agent told me to get their agent # so that you can verify it with the 1-866-366-8212 number (for EAGLE project - which is the team that calls pro-actively for Bell) or 310-SURF (the main internet number).
Thought I should clear some things up since I spent a considerable amount of time while at work on the phone with their manager today discussing the purpose of this calling team and making sure I would not be charged for anything on the visit (which he confirmed - even inside wiring which should be charged to home-owners is covered as they are a courtesy branch and are only looking to do necessary repairs to get what we should be getting with a stable internet service).- Caller: Bell
- JustineI saw this number on my call display many times but never a message. I called the number and spoke with Jodie who explained that they use an automated dialler which is why no message is left. They are a proactive team with the Bell Internet group known as Eagle. Through reporting they are able to tell if our speed is up to par and if our modem is working to the best of its capabilities.
I booked an appointment and the technician was a Bell tech, in a Bell truck and he had his Bell ID. Very nice guy. Internet service is stable and fast now. Very pleased and impressed that Bell is being proactive. They stood true to their word...no charge for anything and no price hike or sales pitch.- Caller: Bell Internet Repair
- Rev. John HilliardMy inquiry of last year turned out to be legitimate. My modem was replaced and I have improved service.
I have recently had another call for a visit tomorrow. I have experienced interruptions in the internet service,
I believe it is legitimate.- Caller: Bell
- Sarah replies to AndrewWhen I called 310-SURF, the lady (clearly English not her first language) did not seem to understand what I was asking when I tried to verify 1-866-366-8212 and said there were no messages on my account about internet issues. I was suddenly without warning transferred to Phone Technical support who said they didn't think the 1-866- number was valid. I was then transferred to Internet Technical Support (again?) where the man told me he was 95% sure (his words) that Bell would not ask to come into the house and that he could do nothing about cancelling the appointment. Calling the 1-866 number back just led to the answering machine. WOW. Not impressed.
- kevinReceived a call from the the above number.....contacted bell who told me it was a scam and they had been attempting to to track these individuals
- NancyI was also contacted by 866-366-8212 and was told they wanted to come to the house to inspect the internet lines (inside & out)because they thought I was paying for a level of internet and was not getting it. Hmmmmm - how long has this been going on?
I contacted 310-Bell today and they told me I was actually getting more speed than I was paying for - how often does that happen. I gave Bell the 866 number and was told it was not a Bell's Internet Repair/Service number and that their internet lines were up to date in our area.- Caller: 866-366-8212
- paulThis number has been on my phone for weeks. Caller ID said "Bell repair" . Called back and can only leave a message. Finally someone was home to answer and this time caller id said Long distance not Bell Repair. Person on the phone said they see we have frequent disconnects. They run a report and have to call those customers with 8+ frequent disconnects day. they offered to send a tech out. Husband declined and said they'd have to speak to me.
I called Bell twice and both CSR's confirmed it is not Bell, nor a Bell support number. They advised me to report to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre which i will do once they report on monday.- Caller: 866-366-8212
- seanMy wife received one of these calls but hung up thinking it was "sketchy". Started receiving the bell repair calls multiple times a day. I called 310-bell and finally got a hold of a person. She said they only call for a customer satisfaction survey if you recently have had work done or added a service. That to book a tech the customer has to call. The customer service person stated that she hasn't received any emails notifying bell staff that these calls would be going out. I will add that I got the impression that she seemed a bit confused from my line of questioning, but she checked the 3668212 number and it didn't show up in her system as a bell number. The customer service rep stated that if they were from Bell that they would have all of our information, account number address etc.. but the caller didn't give any of that info. I'm still questioning if it could be legit but for now I am avoiding the calls until I learn more.

- MAriaI actually received one of these calls yesterday and it was all suspect to me. When I called Bell to verify and they escalated it. The could find no connection to the phone number 1-866-366-8212 or the number that actually called 613-785-2510. They are escalating it even further and recommended I call the fraud line to report this. Never in my life any company ever did a courtesy call to come fix crap for free. I should have never left Rogers. I never dealt with any sort of sketchy behavior from Rogers. never heard a peep from them. Not even a year with Bell and the problems are endless

- David S| 2 repliesGot the call today from a woman named Jocelyne who had a western voice, not the usual "Hello, my name is Richard" in a barely understandable Indian accent. She said I am getting 5MB service instead of 7MB and wanted to connect to my modem to see if she could fix it.
Is that the point? Do they grab hold of your computer over the internet like the Indian people do and use it to rob you blind- Caller: Bell Internet Repair
