Voicemail was left, did not say who they were calling for, but that they were Petersons & Associates, calling regarding a federal affidavit & several outstanding checks.  They wanted me to call back before my case was filed with the county and a warrant issued.  I'm quite certain this has nothing to do with me - sounds like a scam

If there was an actual warrant or case, you would not be warned.  You are correct - SCAM  (and a new number too).

Just go a call from 866-367-5104 the same number and was told I had several warrants. When I told the man I was going to have my attorney call him he hanged up on me.

I called my attorney and he verified a warrant for my arrest and has suggested I turn myself in. Has anyone had any experience with this?

That I had a Class C Felony Warrant for Bad Checks

They called and made it look like my local sheriff department. I told them what is going on and they said they would not have me call a 866 number or would warn me that they are coming

So I called and spoke with my local sheriff's department since these people spoofed there number. They said they did not call me, that this is a scam and that they would never call to tell me I am being served or anything like that. Also they said they would not have me call a 866 number.

Did anything ever happen?

I am betting that nothing happened.  There are debt scammers and they are trying to scare you into paying a debt you do not owe.
One sure sign is that if someone is coming to serve you, you don't get a warning.
Don't talk to these crooks, they will only keep calling and increase the intensity of the threats.

Peterson & Associates is a COMPLETE SCAM....They contacted my son....used the Thousand Oaks Police Dept's citizen number and advised my son he was going to be arrested.  We contacted the police department.  We were advised this is a SCAM and to please come in and make a complaint.....WE ARE ON OUR WAY....This man needs to be prosecuted for using the Police department as his collection tactic.

They did the same thing to me. When I called the number on my caller ID it was to the local police department. Did you call the local PD and what did you tell him?

I told them what the voice mail said and everything. They told me they would not warn me about going to be served. They would not have me call 866 number or call to settle before going to court. They said them saying that then they want money.

When I called and talked to the Local PD they searched my name and said there was no warrants. The detective said if they called and claimed to be the Ventura County Sheriffs that I should go in and file a complaint against him that it is against the law to do that.

Peterson is posting these...DON'T BELIEVE THIS POST...We just contacted our local police department....we have been requested to come in and file a complaint....they cannot spoof their number to mirror the police departments.....save yourselves the aggravation....THIS MAN IS AN ASS!
