    Toll free phone numbers are almost impossible to trace. The caller could be from anywhere in the world. As well, the caller could be spoofing (faking) their caller ID. But the most likely answer is to get you to call back. Because of the way toll free calls work the caller pays for the call. So you cannot hid YOUR caller ID information. So as soon as you call they have your name & number. The first piece of the puzzle they add to the scam. If a message had been left, that information you could search.
