A phone call came in my business cell phone from 866-381-8342. The party calling identified themselves as Edd Benson, Debt Collector, who threatened to start trouble for me at my real estate office.  He has already caused me to have to leave one real estate office due to his unscrupulous debt collection practices.  Being a disablied woman on a fixed income, I told him that I did not have the money.  I certainly would not send him any money after looking up his name on the internet, as this debt collection agency has been arrested for theft of clients' money in Kenner, LA.
No, I won't be sending any money to these people.  If I owe money it will be directly to the person/company to whom I may owe the money

Don't do any business with Edd Benson. Listen to my advice ---------You have been warned

May be worth a call to your original creditor to ask if they've assigned it to collections or possibly sold it to a third party.

even if original creditor assigned it or sold it- you can still pay the original creditor  and most defintely should-
collection agencies are just third parties out to make money
and no matter what they say- you can pay the creditor directly
do not pay Edd Benson
