Actually, Time-Warner is currently in contract negotiations with Viacom (MYV, E!, Spike, Comendy Channel, etc.).  These channels may be unavailable until they resolve their dealings.

are you sure?  because i thought Time-Warner and Viacom settled the matter.  
also, my niece has been receiving this number on channels which i think aren't owned by Viacom.  she is very confused as to what is going on.

does this have anything to do with the analog to digital switchover that's happening soon?  because it was my understanding that cable users wouldn't be affected.  or did they mean only digital cable users would be unaffected?  would a converter box fix this problem?

It's not the Viacom v. Time Warner Cable problem.  That has been settled and this phone number keeps popping up on channels that used to be broadcast regularly.  I think it's something to do with the analog to digital conversion but I am not certain.  Anybody know for certain what it is for?
