- VickiI do not know why i get calls from CBV living in Ontario,i know i do not own anybody anything.Guy on the phone does not want to tell me the reason why he is calling me all he wants is my sin number.
This just started about month ago,so i think i will do what that lady said call consumer protection.- Caller: CBV
- Snowflake replies to EBThey called me too but left no message. I really doubt this is Telus or a collection agency, especially because I have no bills or debt and I don't own the contract for my phone.
I think it's another scam. - 1111Ya Jennie how do you sleep at night knowing your a crook who buys peoples debt. [***]

- AnonymMy boyfriend has been receiving almost 10 calls a day from these people! When I answered and tried to get their information from them, they kept cutting me off. I asked them to send me documentation, they just said to pay the bill, then they would send us a letter, and that we could dispute it after we had paid the amount that was so called owed. People who do this for a living need a big ole "high five to the face!"

- LeighOk, if it is a debt collection or not, there are rules for debt collection, AND there is a statute of limitation of debts. Each province (or state) has it's own rules, but In Ontario, starting in January 2004 the statute of limitations is 2 years.
The site I got the following info is from: http://www.debtfree-world.com/statute-of-limitations.php. Pay close attention to the part that I put in all CAPS.
"The Statute of Limitations is a legal way to be absolved of a debt. Debt can be an over whelming burden when you don’t know how to handle it. Educate yourself on your options by spending time on the site and check out the Debt Recovery FlowChart.
Changes were made to the statute of limitations in Ontario. These changes came into effect January 1st of 2004. Meaning that debt incurred after this time, come under the new Ontario limitations act 2002.
Therefore, after January of 2004 a creditor has two years in which to bring proceedings against a debtor.
HOWEVER, THIS TWO-YEAR PERIOD IS REINSTATED IF AT ANY TIME THE DEBTOR ACKNOWLEDGES THE DEBT AFTER THAT TIME OR MAKES A PARTIAL PAYMENT TOWARD THE DEBT.
Now debts incurred before January of 2004 are under the old statute of limitations law. A six year limit for debt collection was the law before 2004.
There are many ways to work with overwhelming debt. The first step is to consult a professional to determine exactly what is best in your situation.
The first thing you will want to consider is that if the statute of limitations is still looming over you it is best to get your debt under control by whatever means is necessary."
I hope this helps anyone who has any debt to determine what they need to do about it.- Caller: 866-387-8751

- Lisa replies to WheelsNever answer this call till you know your rights. We all need to know the banks have been foreclosed on in December and are now acting on their own accord. Just a little research is all it takes. Filings are UCC and are international law. Use Google search for OPPTin or The One Peoples Public Trust.
- Lisa replies to m4The corporations have been charged with fraud! Do not pay them anything ever again. They have been foreclosed on and will stop at nothing to try to get you to comply but they are criminals and are going down. Google OPPTin or One Peoples Public Trust to see how we are charging them internationally. We are free of these crooks!
