Left no message

I had this company call me today asking for me and claimed they had a "personal business matter". I asked what company was calling me and they refused to give me their company name. The other caller then disconnected the call.

I called the number back and a recording said they were Radius Global Solutions. Based on the information I have gathered so far, this appears to be a third-party collection agency. This company seems very shady because their agents don't willingly give out their company name.

Thank you for that info. These people call me up to 6 times a day, never leave a msg. Very aggravating.

They called. I sent to voicemail and they left no voicemail. Since I don’t owe any bills I’m guessing this is either, or ring number, scam and a debt from 20+ years ago. Either way I’m blocking this number.

They sent a letter to my husband stating they were collecting a debt from Sears they said the balance could be cut in half if I agreed to pay in full. I'm his spouse & they won't give me any information even though he's hospitalized unable to make financial decisions! I don't believe we have a debt owed with Sears.

If they sent you a letter, then that letter should tell you exactly what you need to do.  That would be to make them prove that you owe the debt and that they have the legal right to collect it.  It is called a debt validation letter.  You must send it out within 30 days of receipt of that letter.  Don't waste time and void out your rights in this matter.

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

You have to wonder why someone in PA would be the owner of a business that is located in Florida.  Must be a heck of a commute every day.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

Caller was evasive and requested loads of personal information from me WITHOUT telling me what they were calling for.  They would only say, "personal business".  I asked them of they were a debt collection agency.  They said. "No."  They did not inspire confidence.

Well they are a collection agency and their name and address is posted in this very thread.

Tried to explain calling back didn't care what I had to say. It's a legitimate debt, but I'm not responsible for it. They just want to collect.

Called once every month but left no message. Dont think I have any debt.
