After reading through a lot of posts on this number, it was listed as a debt collector for Target by some helpful post. A couple months ago my bank returned a debit from my Target debit card for insf. funds. Even though it was sent through my account again a day or so later and was paid, Target has a $25 returned payment fee. I received a letter and forgot/misplaced it until yesterday. Yesterday I followed the instructions on my letter and payed it. Hopefully this number will quit calling me once that gets through their system. If you think you may owe Target and do not want to deal with this collector, this is the number from my notice from Target (800)-635-4714

Received a call 3/22/2017 and caller ID showed "Toll Free".  When the answering machine came on they hung up.  Can't be about medical bills, I haven't had any and if legitimate they would have left a message.  Appears to be a number we should put on call block.  I will.

Scammers from abroad.  Don't send them anything. Don't give personal information. THEY want our money...block the number but beware, they have multiple numbers. When I realized that, I blocked each and every number.  The calls stopped, but as of today, the calls resume.

Received calls the last two days (March 27 & 28, 2017).  They are listed under caller ID as "Toll Free" and are now on call block listing.  I do not owe any medical bills.  Totally bogus.

OMG now that I read this comment I feel so bad because I just told off the lady because the first call she gave me she rushed me off the phone after I did not want to give her my information because I told her I did not feel comfortable doing it over the phone. And then I called back because I looked up the number and I saw all these bad comments so I called back  and that’s when I started telling her this is s scam lol ..... but like the above comment I also forgot to pay for my target bill and she said she was calling o but like the comment above I did forget to pay my target bill and she said that’s what she was calling about on behalf of target

Yeah, you should now feel bad for the poor scam call recipients that will also see MAS's post and think the scammer is legit too, thanks to your "re-enforcing" reply.

    Reply to MAS:
And that is the perfect type of post scammers want see, so it saves them the trouble of shilling about this number. Now when they call some "victim" the victim will see your legitimate post and think the scammer is legit and get scammed that much easier.

Keep in mind, just because a number MIGHT be legit, doesn't mean the caller is!

Scammers spoof legitimate numbers to trick people into a false sense of security to answer their calls and attempt to get money or personal information from you.
This is why no one will encourage others to report of legitimate numbers, as they only confuse people into believing it is a legit call when a scammer has called them and they come here to find out about the call.

People who get legitimate calls would know its legitimate and have no reason to come looking up the number.
800notes is about exposing scammers, shady businesses and harassing type calls from debt collections, surveys, political and telemarketers or anyone who scams, lies or cons people.
People come to share those experiences to help each other understand who is bothering them and share what information they can to help point a finger at those criminals. The data is useful in knowing the frequency of the calls and even allow someone enough info to research towards getting a company's background history towards legal action.

The idea is to stop criminal callers, but posting about legitimate calls will not help anyone stop them. Sure people want to know who called and it could have been a legitimate call, but it only takes one post with confirmation of who the legitimate owner is to establish if its a call you can decide was legitimate for you. The fact that scammers can spoof ANY number is enough to say that even legitimate numbers have scammers who call pretending to be legitimate, so you just don't really know who is calling.

Shills will come here to post about the number being "legit" and try convincing people to answer the call so they can scam you.  So why help the criminals by posting about your call being legitimate? It has no impact on a legitimate business, only the shady ones and thats what we want to expose. Your legitimate post will only add confusion for others who read posts by those who shill about using the numbers they spoof.

My adult daughter keeps getting letters from these people with the phone # and address that others are describing on this site, saying that she's been sent to collections for an unpaid balance for her Target card. The letter looks official, says it's from AllianceOne Receivables Management Inc, but doesn't show the Target account number (Suspicious item #1). They send it to my address, with her name, which is Suspicious item #2 since she has never technically lived at this address. She gets no other mail here. Thanks to everyone for talking about their experiences with these criminals.

They may or may not be a reliable company.  I can never understand the caller's heavy accent.

I have been getting called 1-5 times daily for about a year from this number.  I have never answered it and they never leave a message.

I received a call and they mentioned that there was a pending balance in my Target card. I didn't pay by phone. I went online and the debit was real. Still I feel more safe paying online than by phone (as they insist).

Target does not issue credit cards or have accounts so it cannot be a "representative for Target".

Debt collector.  I'll tell you that because I really, really, really don't think that "Sherry" who clearly posted here in 2013 will be stopping back after 8 years to answer you.

Before making a post you should at least give a tiny bit of effort to make sure of what you are posting so that you don't look like a fool.  Target credit cards are issued by TD Bank USA, N.A.  https://www.target.com/c/redcard-td-bank-priv ... -card/-/N-4tgiy
