    Fraud Alert:
Scammers have been calling elders at home and convincing them to provide or confirm their bank account information, usually in connection with purported benefits related to a medical savings plan, drug discount plan or even Medicare part D.
Typically, there is a one-time withdrawal of $398 from the elder’s checking account.
The phone numbers associated with a withdrawal of $398 include

    (866) 898-7489,
    (866) 282-8618,
    (866) 829-6317,
    (866) 396-6638,

and have been identified by various names including American
Consumer Benefits, Consumer Resources, Priority Savings, Empire Benefits, Liberty Savings, CCRC, and Client Care Relations (CCR).

Inquiry calls to these "companies" typically result in a response from Customer Service or Client Care Relations (CCR), which claims to be a third party processor that services several companies and provides customer service. Frequently, CCR refuses to restore funds to the elder's account requesting that the elder first return the "benefit packet" by mail and get a claims authorization number before the refund can be provided. In reports to an Attorney
General's Office, elders have stated that after waiting for weeks or even months, they never received a benefits packet. The scam appears to be based in Canada makes it difficult for U.S. law enforcement to pursue.

Ask your bank to "reverse" the charges and get their fraud dept. on it.
