Received a nondescript pre-recorded message looking for someone I don't know. Callback appears to indicate that the number belongs to NCO, a company with a hand in both debt collection and telemarketing.

I had a 416 number calling for months then I reported it, now I am getting calls from this # with the same message.  "important business matter for ______ blah blah"  When I hold no one ever comes on the line!!

Keep calling , it is a nuisance call!

I'd been getting calls for MONTHS from this number more and more frequently.  Lately, it's been 4-5 calls/day.

It's a recorded message that says a name they are looking for, and to press "3" if it is a wrong number.  Pressing 3 puts you on hold for a very long time. (I've never waited it out)

After some research, found out that it was NCO - a collections agency.

I looked them up and called their main number 866-325-3415.  I politely told them the problem and they looked up my number.  It was associated with over a dozen open accounts they have.  She deleted the number from all of those accounts and put me on a Do Not Call list.

Other commenters have said that they argue with the person on the line and demand to be left alone with no joy.
I think manners and respectful tone will work better on this one.  Good luck.

Left message saying to return call about repayment options of federal student loans with new changes that have taken effect.Sounds like a marketer trying to get a hook on condensing someone's loans.
