- Nicki S.| 1 replyLive person named "Sherry" left a voice message saying she was from my "pre-bill service" & was trying to set up a conference call with me on "Reference No. 125280404" & to please call her back. Never heard of her or service. Did NOT call back.
- Caller: "Pre-Bill Service"
- Elaine Adair| 1 replyI continue getting calls from this number even with the message that this is the 2nd and last call on your claim. I have no idea who they are but wish they would stop calling me!
- Caller: pre-bill service
- Debra W.research department from your bill payment service. Have no idea who it's from. The quality of the call from them was terrible, can't believe it is a legitimate call.
- Caller: "Your Bill Payment Servicie"
- Laura P.The caller called my direct office line and my cell phone. Perhaps a retail or credit services sold my phone numbers or someone stole them. I rarely give out my cell number and the businesses that have my cell number usually have my email address as well. The caller left a vm on both phone #'s and said:
"My name is Abigale from the Research Dept. on your bill payment services on a recorded line. We received your inquiry request # 13343556. Call us back for additional information and refer to request (note here that she changed the terminology from ' inquiry' to 'request') # 13343556."
I will not call back. If the call is important, I will receive it through another means.- Caller: Research Dept Bill Payment Services

- PennsylvaniaIf someone calls you from this number, do not trust them. DO NOT give out any information to them.
- Michael S| 1 replyPretty much the same as above. I wouldn't give them any info. The woman was very persistent. I had to hang up on her.
- Caller: FSIS
- SusanI just received call from this number saying they need to verify my banking information and they were going to connect me with American Express on a third party conference call. what's scary is I received an email and a letter apparently connecting this all together but everything looks legit on my end from banking and credit card data. Obviously a common enough number with obscure resource as to where these calls are really coming from.
- jsb replies to Michael SSame thing just now for me
- 2-3 timesSame here, my dad received 2 calls from this number: 1 (866) 400-6972 and said I owe $400 with a ref #.
they asked what bank so I said 5/3 that's all.
What should I do since I have out my bank brand? - AlfredMy credit union uses their services for tracking delayed checks of their automatic bill payment services. They called up me and the payee for tracking a check that I reported delayed. I was in doubt about the number and contacted the credit union for verification.
- RNB from AustinAfter emailing the Paytrust bill pay service (owned by Intuit) regarding a problem with my account, I received a call back from this number. The caller was an Indian working for a firm hired by Paytrust to handle customer support issues. He did not work for Paytrust, but was calling on their behalf. Apparently they provide support to more than one bill pay service.
- Caller: Paytrust subcontractor
- Call type: Event reminder
- Credit union customerThis number called me because they are investigating a stolen check. They needed a phone number for the person to whom the check was originally drafted. Definitely not a scammer.
- Caller: MACU Bill pay company
- Call type: Event reminder
- MarilynMy Credit Union also uses this company for tracking lost checks, in this case a lost epay check to my credit card company. My Credit Union validated all of the case information that was given to me in a VM left by this company.
- Caller: Called on behalf of credit union
- susanThis is a legitimate company. IT is call FIS/Metavante Bill Pay service. IT is a third party vendor hired by your financial institution. If they are calling it is because there could be a problem with your bill pay service or a specific payment. It really is important that you call them back. If you have doubts call your Financial Institution. If you have a problem with the 'english' that some of their staff members use you can ask for a supervisor or someone else to speak too.
- Caller: FIS Bill Pay Service
- JeanineCalled me twice asking for my husband. Would not talk to me although it is a joint account. Called my bank and they are unaware of anyone from that number representing them.
- Caller: Unknown
- Eric| 1 replyThey called and mentioned a dollar amount that happens to represent the exact amount I currently am disputing with a taxing authority. I have a feeling this call is legit. If I find out otherwise, I'll come back here and post again.
- BigA replies to EricOk, so this allegedly "legitimate" company, calls different people and gives them different company names? Now you say they called you about a tax matter? Everyone else says they were called about "fraudulent" transactions and problems with the bill payer service at their bank/credit union. I would certainly be leaning towards "this is a scam call" rather than "legit".
- NonyaReceived phone call at 3 AM, they hung up as soon as I answered.
- jada99Call from "Alvin" supposedly from my bank, about a bill-pay payment to a credit card. He said he needed to conference me in with the credit card company because they would not talk to them. Smells like bullsh*t to me. He asked who the primary account holder is. I refused to answer or join any conference call, and made him give me a call-back number. I won't be calling back,
- Caller: Someone pretending to be my bank
- Call type: Scam suspicion

Got put on hold with rock n roll music, refreshing but suspcious. Person came back on line and I asked what country call was from. Put on hold again. Then he came back and said India. Told him if he has our information then he can send by fax or mail whatever it is we need to know. He put me on hold again at which point I hung up on him.
