Received a all from above number the day before Christmas.  Caller did not identify her self, but her ancent sounded Asian.  She stated she was from my bank but would not answer any questions.  Notified my bank and was referred to fraud investigation.  Completed a number search on the internet and learned this number was from India.  Do not give these people any information if they call you.

Called, said he was from Stifful which was a clue because, although it's spelled Stifel, it's pronounced Stee-ful, not Stiff-ful. Same MO, gave me a reference number and this phone #. I suppose that they are a research firm hired by Stifel or another company, but I checked my Stifel account for messages and there were none. I won't bother calling back since it's obviously not important (my banker would call if it were or, at very least, there'd be a message on my account page on the web) and the guy spoke such poor English that I would have suffered trying to decipher what he wanted.

This is a legitimate company. They are the bill pay service for your banks online bill pay.  If they called you, you probably had a problem with a biller on your online bill pay with your bank. They were calling you to get on 3 way with one of your billers who apparently were charging you a late fee because of on line payments fault, postal service fault or the such and have you verify with the biller (water bill, entergy, atmos, credit card etc) that it is ok for them to speak about your bill issue with your vendor biller who has issues with your payment. Without it they can't help you get your late fees and such and any late payment records removed. Yes, they won't tell you much but will tell you what the issue is and who it is with, information only you, your vendor and your bank would know which verifies who they are.  Not a spam caller or a collection agency.

Answer the call. It is the company your bank uses for your online bill pay. Apparently you made a complaint with your bank about a payment not arriving as scheduled or one of your vendor billers has a problem with the payment and needs to verify with you so the online bill pay can talk to your vender.  Yes, this phone service is most likely one of the foreign countries billing agencies like most companies do now to keep from paying American Minimum wage.  Calling your bank seems to be futile.  None of the bank employees knew how to contact the billing company and just said they use an outside service for this. If you don't answer they will eventually close the case and not resolve your online banking issue. Your bank does not do this themselves.

they are the online banking service that your bank uses for online bill pay for your bank. They are one of those services based out of the country so your bank does not have to pay US minimum wage.  They will help you resolve your online payment that one of your vender billers apparently are having issues with your payment and your vendor is requesting them to verify they have permission to speak with them about the payment issue.  If you do not verify with your vendor biller (phone, water, credit card, or any on line payment) they will not be able to resolve your online banking payment issue.

It’s legit. I had a dispute with a paid bill. This is a company that handles those Bill Pay Service disputes. Certainly looked and sounded like a scam though.

Why are you assuring someone who posted over a year ago that this is legit? Especially since that person said the same thing? And why are you even here? You already know who called you.

Called 3 times. Impossible to understand what they say due to thick Indian accent. Asking about a check that was deposited in our account that does not exist. Told them we don't verify anything over the phone and they hung up.

    Total scam.

I received a message from 'Sonya' from 'FIS Bill Pay Services' regarding 'Important Changes'.   She left a callback number and a reference number.  I tried the callback number and it gave me a bunch of jumble (that sounded like pieces of a real automated system menu), then a second or so of voices (sounded like a call center), then a couple of minutes of hold music before I hung up.  (Yes, I'm that patient.  I like to tell these folks that I bet they're decent people, but they're working for a scammer.)

    Early Call
Call one 10:30 AM, demanding financial information did not identify who he was and what he was about, I had to ask several questions to find out what the call is about, he got agitated with me for daring to ask him questions, I did not have time for his convenience so I had to hang up as he refused to understand that the world dose not revolve around him. [***] company called at 6:24 AM the next morning, left no message, apparently 6:24 AM in the morning is an acceptable time to harass for information.

This was a valid call for me regarding some bill payments I accidentally made to the wrong payer online from my bank.  These were payments to a closed account, one of which had been returned, and the other they said will be returned soon.  Polite and informative.  Didn't ask for much personal information other than name.
